Witnesses speaking to CBS News claimed that a vehicle crashed into a crowd at high speed, and then the driver got out and started firing a weapon, with police returning fire. It was unknown how many people have been killed or injured. Nola Ready, a New Orleans government agency, said in post on social media that there had been "a mass casualty incident on Canal and Bourbon Street", warning people nearby to "get yourself away from the area", as per BBC News. The incident allegedly occurred around 3.15am local time at the intersection of Bourbon Street and Iberville. Emergency services, including ambulances and vehicles from the coroner's office, were reportedly at the scene. Bourbon Street appeared to be shut down with a heavy police presence. In a post on X, a journalist at local news outlet WGNO-TV wrote: "NOPD source states that as many as 10 fatalities after driver in pickup truck plowed into crowd on Bourbon Street. connda Posted Wednesday at 11:44 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:44 AM It seems the current trends are cars plowing through crowds of people and airliner disasters. 🤔 What gives?
MicroB Posted Wednesday at 12:09 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:09 PM Early days, but I expect some loon with grievances blown out of all proportion. But the major difference with Al Abdulmohsen, he won't have been on Twitter moaning about how he couldn't a gun.
Lacessit Posted Wednesday at 12:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:27 PM RIP innocent people. I don't remember Bourbon Street being that wide, or having tram tracks. 1

sqwakvfr Posted Wednesday at 01:21 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:21 PM The first news press event (no questions were taken) was confusing. The mayor said "terrorist attack". The NOPD Chief did not say much except that the FBI will be lead agency. Also, IED"s were found and the suspect exchanged gunfire with officers. The FBI SAIC said this was not a

Ban cars? Increase fuel tax? Facial recognition on gas pumps? I can't wait to find out what's going to be taken next in the name of our personal safety. 3 1 2 1

Jingthing Posted Wednesday at 04:13 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:13 PM Let them investigate. It's terrorism if he was motivated by an ideology. If it was just apolitical insane, it wasn't terrorism. 3 3

HappyExpat57 Posted Wednesday at 07:11 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:11 PM Watching the FBI update, it looks like ISIS is back. 2
Jingthing Posted Wednesday at 07:35 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:35 PM Sure sounds like terrorism now. I guess the only silver lining is that it wasn't domestic terrorism from maga or anti maga. I also see that the profiles in discourage mercenary mayor there had wanted to let the Sugar Bowl happen the same day but it was then cancelled for one day. 1 1

Popular Post BarBoy Posted Thursday at 01:52 AM Popular Post Posted Thursday at 01:52 AM When is enough going to be enough? The so called 'religion of peace' is anything but. How many more innocent people will have to die at the hands of these extremists before we wake up and take decisive action? The far right is now on the rise across Europe and in the states and it's no bloody wonder. I can see a full blown cultural war brewing on the horizon if governments continue down the path of sweeping these incidents under the carpet rather than addressing them head on. 3

The mosque he went to needs looking at, and what the Imam is preaching, if it's hate and intolerance then it needs closing down and the Imam arrested. Not doing anything is no longer an option with this religion, as usual no outcry and condemnation from his fellow muslims. Some will be cheering from the sidelines, while one or two will offer fake regrets and moan about a backlash against thier community. 7

So they believe in an all-knowing omnipotent god, yet that god wants them to do the killing for them. What?!? Insinuating that his god is incapable and needs a wretch like himself to do his work? Hubris as such will keep you out of Paradise, laddy! I would think the stuff going on in Gaza makes for good recruitment material. 1 1
