Private Eye used to launch squibs at Al Fayed,but refrained from entering the harassment area because of the legal fees that would have bankrupted the Eye.

    Instead  they would frequently mock Fayed's frustration at not being offered a knighthood.  Clearly the Royals wanted nothing to do with this Middle-Eastern interloper.

   The nearest Fayed got to the Royal Family was when his  son took up with Princess Diana.  At  which point Karma intervened....

I like series where the writers have the time to do character relationships.  I just started watching 'Psych' (I think there were 8 or 10 series) where a supposed psychic helps inept police solve crimes in a lighthearted way.

The only characters who held my interest slightly were the three cougars who had a sexual itch without quite being able to admit it.  But perhaps it was their tits (on plentiful show) that made me hesitate to call it quits..

You're not the only to think that, yet it's had the highest ratings of all 3 seasons.  Personally, I love it and can hardly contain myself to find out how it will end.  I still think Season 1 was better, but this Season beats 2 which I was a little disappointed with.

I'm really enjoying 'The City is Ours' on the BBC. It's a gritty story revolving around an OCG family, fighting for control of the drugs scene in Liverpool. Murdering rivals and stealing each other's gear. And now there's fighting for dominance going on within the family. Gripping stuff.

This plot comes from an Agathe Christie novel--- and play use to run in  London --the plot twist has been adapted so many times, in different forms--

originally in the 40s called the ten little Ni***r Boys---then changed to 10 little red Indians then changed to   "Then There were None"

People die (murdered) 1 at a time so the last one must be the killer-- but not when Christie is writing the story .

Most people know the ending----except maybe the young

 

 

Google --Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue takes its structure from a classic Agatha Christie novel. 

Ten people arrive in a remote area, only to be murdered one-by-one by an killer in their midst. 

That's enough to make the series compelling, even if the writing is fairly flat.

Godfather of Harlem is back in a couple of weeks. 
 

I thought The White Lotus was good, I kind of worked out part of the story last week, but after watching it with the wife, she had been enjoying it, then said today that it was a bunch of crap - I can see that the show has generated attention but then turned into the most un-Thai story ending. Like there was no happy ending, other than he got the girl. Anyone else?

As is my wont these days with regards to older movies that I haven't seen, I downloaded and watched one starring Elliott Gould called, "The Long Goodbye" and was expecting a very good movie according to IMDb which gave it a rating of 7.5. 

 

However I was extremely disappointed in the whole movie and struggled to stay with it until the end, which I did. It certainly didn't do it for me and a chain-smoking Elliott Gould really didn't seem to fit the bill of the private eye Philip Marlowe, as well as others have done.

 

I did actually watch the original "French Connection" the other evening and rather enjoyed that one.

When you know who did it and why , you can better understand the person's actions and

what and why he/she said it. Things you may have missed on the first time watching it.
