Many thanks  Mutt, especially as I'd never heard of these and was contemplating a pair of Sony CH 720 Bluetooth headphones, so I will investigate these. 👍

Definitely agree on Andor S02. Especially E01-E06. Slow, confusing, quick jumps between the scenes, and little or no connection to the rest of the story. Just wasted one episode on a stupid wedding with Bollywood choreographed dancing routine. Another on some forest wannabe rebels infighting, that never appear again. And, of course, they just stole some story from the Rebel Moon, cheap!!!! I blame it all on the director, Ariel Kleiman (he's a man actually). Must be a good friend of KK.

 

While S01 was pretty good, IMO, S02 final episode was a bit of a cliffhanger. And we know there won't be S03.

I have Sony Wh -1000xm5 headphones.

Cost around 10k.

They're very good, decent bass but not overpowering.

Noise cancelling is just right, too.

 

They've got a bit battered from falling asleep in them a bit too often, so I need to replace them soon.

 

Don't really want to fork out as  much next time.

 

7k is my budget.

 

 

Then, there's the B&W headphones....

 

 

Quite expensive, but awesome sound quality & very comfortable.

I did see that a while back and thought it was brilliant, but now you've mentioned it again, I will download it and watch it, as with my concussion and memory loss I will  probably think I've never seen it before!

There were some very strong clues that this film was going to be shambolic but I gave it a go anyway.

Trastevere 1971 Italian comedy (but not funny)

One time director -- never another.

No reviews at all found.

Was heavily cut in editing.

Oddly, it held my interest enough to watch it.

It's named on what was back then a newly trendy bohemian very old district in Rome.

Still there of course but no doubt gentrified by now.

Although not a documentary it felt a bit like time travel.

It showed various 1970's characters like drug addicts, hippies, alienated Americans, delusional locals, fake artists, deliciously filthy language, a mildly predatory middle aged queen,  a boatload of old religiously fanatic though sinning  Italian grandmas, a vain actor with a lost dog named Mao. I guess there was a little bit of a Fellini factor as many of the obvious non professional actors were kind of freakish and fun to gawk at. Story line and plot very weak. But overall a satisfying enough escapist experience. A bad movie but a better than that experience. So you really never know until you have a look.

It's Argentinian sci-fi, but had v high reviews in the UK media.

I liked it, but I never turn down an Argentinian series. It was interesting, although giant bugs were a bit cheesy. 
 

I normally skip anything to do with Sean Bean, but I think this city is ours is one of the best things from the bbc in time.
 

Just for a look-see, I downloaded S06 of mocro maffia wondering if my media player would find the subtitles somewhere, to my surprise, they are available on one of the sub sites.

Just watched it and it was an amalgam/mish mash of the likes of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Romancing the Stone and others and nowhere near as good. In fact I struggled to stay with it for the duration....a score of 5 out of 10 for me.

From the director of the wonderful award winning South Korean film Parasite (a must watch), we now have Mickey 17.

Science fiction, great special effects, gripping story line, political and social satire as you'd expect coming from the Parasite guy.

But it had a big budget and it's going to lose a lot of money. I don't usually care about such things but if that means its going to be harder for Bong Joon Ho to get future projects green lighted, that's really a shame.

It wasn't that good.

They have literally been pushing it for years... Never a good sign. That said, I like sci-fi, downloaded it a while back and will get around to watching it eventually.

I do not prioritize most recent stuff in the slightest. I recently mentioned an unknown 1971 Italian film. So that's a silly question for me. Why be a slave of such things when we're in a time where you can watch anything and everything from every country and era  whenever we want? 

I do understand why this film isn't to everyone's cup of tea though.

However, it was overall rather well reviewed. 
Obviously not at the Parasite level. 

I enjoyed the humor and satire aspects more than the sci fi aspect.

Expensive is relative but my Sennheiser HD450BT have served me well over the last few years. Nice crisp, bassy sound with good battery life, fast charging, and can be used while charging. Circa B6000 over here.

 

 

Was back in the UK recently and bought a new set of earpads for them. Improved the sound and comfort a lot. Very snazzy but a bit of a pain to fit 😊

Many, many thanks to the folks who replied to my request regarding Bluetooth headphones, and I've now got all of the information I need to be able to make a decision, which I will do very shortly.

A few posts back someone mentioned the documentary, "They shall not grow old" and I have seen it and IMO it is very good, and that also leads me onto some other Peter Jackson movies which you may or may not have seen, and I post this mainly because I think he is an excellent director and not only because of his "Lord of the Rings" movies.

 

The two movies I particularly like of his are one made in the late 90s, called "What Dreams may Come", starring Robin Williams and I have to admit that one of my favourites is, "The Lovely Bones" which stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci and Saoirse Ronan.

 

If you haven't seen them, I urge you to give them a try!! And I'm going to do the same again!!
