Starmer Condemns 'Lies and Misinformation' Over Child Sexual Abuse

Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party, has firmly condemned the spread of "lies and misinformation" regarding child sexual exploitation. His comments come in response to Elon Musk's recent remarks on the social media platform X, where Musk accused Starmer of failing to prosecute grooming gangs during his tenure as director of public prosecutions and called Labour MP Jess Phillips a "rape genocide apologist." Musk also suggested Phillips should be jailed.

The controversy centers on the government's decision not to initiate a public inquiry into child sexual exploitation in Oldham, a decision defended by Phillips. In response to criticism, Starmer emphasized his commitment to addressing child sexual abuse, stating: "Child sexual exploitation is utterly sickening. For many years, too many victims have been completely let down."

Starmer defended his record, asserting that he had tackled the issue "head on" during his time as director of public prosecutions. "I changed the system because I could see some of the things that were going wrong," he explained. Reflecting on the gravity of the issue, he acknowledged, "The victims here suffered terrible abuse, and then they weren't listened to."

Speaking on the broader discourse around the topic, Starmer took aim at those perpetuating falsehoods. "Those who are spreading lies and misinformation as far and as wide as possible are not interested in victims; they're interested in themselves," he said, highlighting the harm such narratives cause to survivors seeking justice.

Phillips, who has been a vocal advocate for addressing sexual abuse, received Starmer's staunch support amidst the attacks. He stated that Phillips has done "1,000 times more than they've even dreamt about when it comes to protecting victims of sexual abuse."

The discussion also touched on existing reviews and inquiries into grooming gangs. Starmer pointed out that there have already been numerous localized investigations and called for the implementation of actionable recommendations. "Now is the time for action on inquiry recommendations," he urged.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak echoed this sentiment, agreeing that "no stone should be left unturned" in addressing the failures of the past. However, he questioned the effectiveness of previous governments in enacting meaningful change. Referring to the Jay Report, an independent inquiry into child sexual exploitation in Rotherham, Sunak asked: "Why didn’t the last government implement the Jay requirements?"

The tension between calls for further inquiries and the urgency for action highlights the ongoing complexities in addressing systemic failures surrounding child sexual exploitation. Both Starmer and Sunak stressed the importance of tangible measures to support victims and ensure accountability.

As the discourse unfolds, the focus remains on safeguarding victims and preventing future abuse while countering the spread of harmful misinformation that distracts from these critical objectives.

The last Tory government spent 14 years doing nothing! Of course the right wing media makes this an anti-labour party issue. Of course an inquiry should be held, but  don’t fool yourselves that the media, Kemi Badenoch etc. are anything but hypocritical chancers with their own agendas, they don’t give a twopenny toss about the victims.

This should be called the 'rapes for votes' scandal.

The Rape of Britain - The American Conservative

The events themselves are so horrible as to be almost inconceivable. From the late ’80s to the present, tens of thousands of young British girls, most between the ages of 10 and 15, have been raped, abused, and forcibly prostituted by gangs of Pakistani Muslim men in the UK. British authorities, from the local police to the town council to members of Parliament, were not only aware of the abuses taking place, but obstructed attempts to stop the horrific crimes, bring perpetrators to justice, or allow the public to become aware of the situation, all in order to prevent “racial unrest” from taking place.

Most of the MPs despise the people , they have long forgotten that they are supposed to work for the people , now they think the people are there to do as they say , a complete new set of people need to run the country and with less government involvement

Starmer blaming everything on the "far right bandwagon" this time. I honestly wonder how much longer he can last.

At this point, the British people hate Starmer almost as much as Starmer hates the British people.😄

Starmer was the head of the CPS.

I bet he thought this was buried forever. Bad luck for Keir. It wasn't.

Except in areas where Labour are dependent on the Muslim vote, including her own constituency where she hangs in there with a 700 majority.

It's kind of Orwellian that she has this Protector title but is actually The Minister For Enablement.

What better way for Starmer to adress misinformation than in the same speech to do some misinformation of his own. Typical leftie!

“They’re supporting a man who went to prison for nearly collapsing a grooming case,” Starmer said of Robinson’s supporters. He said this showed that “they’re not interested in victims, they’re interested in themselves.”

https://edition.cnn.com/2025/01/06/uk/starmer-musk-child-sex-abuse-intl-gbr/index.html

As informed posters will be aware, Starmer was very intentionally misleading. Tommy is not currently in prison for reporting outside a grooming court case that was a long time in the past. This time he is banged up for telling(what is now regarded as truths after he brought the receipts on Silenced) what happened to a Syrian refugee who became part of a false narrative by team left to attack British people.

I'll pull a Starmer here. " Let me be clear "

The Jay report was published in 2022. Which focused on Rotherham.

Braverman set up a Taskforce after the publication of the Jay Report.

That Taskforce has arrested 550 Individuals in relation to grooming gangs since it was set up.

Contrary to what admirers like @Chomper Higgot think, he did not get the position through ability It is a POLITICAL appointment. Why would you appoint a human right lawyer to the CPS, which deals solely with criminal prosecutions, other than to politicise it. Starmer is now saying he went into politics because it would allow him to do more for rape gang victims. The toe curling despicability of the man.

The head of CPS is appointed by the Attorney General who is appointed by the Monarch on the advice of the Prime Minister (at the time Blair). Now, Starmer was a lawyer at that well known Yuuman Rights Grifter chambers Matrix Chambers, whose other Illuminati include Chery Blair (yes wife of) and at one time Blair himself. Nepotism.

Oh, and BTW I temped at the CPS for 6 months so I know it from the inside. No high earning QC would have left his chambers for a CPS appointment.

Starmer didn't say "currently" or did he and I miss it.

I suggest that all those of us who have problems with rape gangs and are thus called the "Far Right" by  Starmer wear our badge with pride in our profile as I have done.

I like that title it seems proper!

” The Minister For Enablement“.

Looking the other way and appeasing

the cultural Marxist movements current historical scandal needs to be  researched, investigated and debated.

I note that someone was already arrested in advance of Stalin Starmers speech to cower people and hopefully frighten them to prevent them posting on social media (if even that vile person Phillips was threatened with violence that is wrong, but let's face it, pretty good timing).

Welcome to Starmers Britain.

You're making the same mistake. He was convicted for contempt of court, a serious criminal charge he didn't contest. That he was arrested for telling the truth is just you putting your spin on it. There is no crime in law called telling the truth.

That's just concerning itself with definitiions of Islamophobia. To pass restrictions on Islamophobia and pass them into law it would need to debated in Parliament, amended and voted on.

It really is a sad reflection that somebody reported me for that. Note, this is a comment on the person who reported me, not on moderators actions, which I gather we are once again forbidden to comment on.

Starmer and others seem to be giving indications that is what is intended.

From my outsider's perspective, there seems to be more than enough blame to go around. No party can escape the taint of this absolutely horrific episode.  It began at the local level and morphed into a nightmare  Perhaps a bit of a classist element as well, since so many of the victims were from poor or working class families?

Rather than point fingers, how about rounding up the rapists and getting them deported/jailed? And giving the victims a chance to rebuild their lives.
