Off topic advice. I use The Best a Man Can Get Fusion blade, which I keep in a small glass of vegetable oil. Can get well over a month's shaving from one unit.

It is oxidisation (rust) on the edge of the blade and not the actual cutting of the whiskers which blunt it. There is an ad on UK TV for Harry's Blades, which says you will get just as close a shave the eighth time as the first. Hahah Try it !

I did ,what a shocker Tore my Face to pieces .

Only use  Gillette. Twin blade Sensor Excel. I find them better than a Cut Troat  Razor or any multi blade razor.

Venture disposable shavers worth a try, double blades, excellent shave, I get about 12 shaves out of one shaver. Handle is shorter than Gille..., which means I hold the handle closer to the blades and that seems to keep the blades area more steady and a closer balanced shave.

 

30Baht for 2 shavers, as above, worth a try.

I get it if guys are trying to look younger to chase some tail - but they are pulling the wool over their own eyes too...  

I've seen some guys die their hair and it looks comical.

 

Age with grace - a beard can look distinguished, respectful, classy... or it can look an unkempt mess and make a person look like a slob...   

 

Its not about the beard itself, but the 'package' - how well put together 'everything' is, from fitness, to hair style, clothes etc and how well kept a beard is.

 

 

 

I haven't shaved for 4 weeks and now have a full beard...   I've no idea if the Wife likes it or not. I've no idea if it makes me look older or not (it probably does)... will I have a beard next week ? - I've no idea, if I feel like shaving it off and going 'clean faced'  I will (but I don't like shaving daily anyway).

 

I'm in the office at the moment, so dressed smart casual, have tidy styled hair, trimmed beard - I think it looks smart, somewhat distinguished. 

 

Come Sunday, I'll not have styled my hair, I'll be wearing scruffs (at home), I'll look somewhat of a 'mess' and thats primarily contributed to by the beard.

1. for me, pure vanity, like the non facial hair look, as does the wife.  If not all grey, I might have kept the beard.

 

2. agree, and an unkept beard / facial hair, is the same as unkept attire, and looks like crap, showing no respect for yourself.   I'm lazy, but ain't that lazy.

 

From 28 to about 50 years old, always had goetee or full beard.   Never seemed to turn women off, I don't think, except the wife.

 

As first time I ask her out, that was a big NO  She told me later, she thought I was a Muslim.   Damn bigot 

 

Somehow she missed that I was sipping beer at the time 🙄

    I shave every day.  I think very few men look good with a scruffy beard or stubble.  A well-groomed full beard can look good on taller men but not so much with short men.

To appear younger to employers who are looking to discard older employees for younger and cheaper workers.  Happens a lot in the west.

An employer will know your age and how much you cost - appearance from an age perspective is somewhat irrelevant. 

 

That said - I wouldn't walk into an interview with a beard, but neither would I walk into an interview with the hair-style I had 6 months ago...   so appearances matter, but the appearance itself more so than apparent age (IMO of course).
