Not sure if this was already answered or not but it looks like the eLearning website is still active so you can watch the safety video online and not have to do it at the DLT.

While it's true you can watch the video online for license renewal and be credited as having watched it, you can not watch online the series of videos for initial license and be credited with having watched them.

Yes, it is correct. You won't have to do written or practical tests, but you have to do the usual physical tests (reaction time, colour blindness etc) and if I remember correctly watch the one hour sa

Certificate of residence:

You will need to have a TM30 filed - ask your landlord (or wife in my case)

https://tm30.immigration.go.th/

Once filed, get the PDF printout

Get copies of the owners house book and Thai ID (helps if they also come with you with the originals)

Copies of your VISA (DTV in my case)

Passport picture and DTV entry stamps

Passport pictures (in Rayong you can pay 100 baht for the pictures)

It took us an hour in total, quite an easy process and only one desk to deal with. Try to get there early morning if possible so you don't overlap the lunch break if there are lots of people ahead of you.

I was 4th in the walk in queue but Rayong doesn't allow new license issues for walk-ins (unless you pre-arrange with an agent and pay a higher "fast-track" fee)

That's an interesting piece of information.  I was told several times that one could go to Rayong or Sattahip and get a new license on a "Walk-in" basis. Nice to have the record straight.

not sure, she has lost her license so can't even check the expiry dates (doh!)

probably best to just go through the new license route.

Go and check at the DLT. They should have her record in their system. My wife has a lifetime licence. We went to the DLT today to renew mine. She also got a plastic version of the lifetime licence today. She did not have the original with her, but she used her Thai ID. Her info was in their system.
