I am wondering if someone has experienced something similar. I went to the Facino near second road/Walking St and asked for the Sidegra. The lady asked if I was a member and i said no. In response, she went to speak with someone on the back and then came out and half-heartedly pretended to look for it and then said we are out of stock. I know the drawer where they are kept because i was there the previous day and I could see that they had a lot in stock. She didn't even open the drawer. They were very willing to sell it to me the previous day and did not ask if i was a "member".

Has this happened to anyone? Being asked if you are a member and then just refusing to sell it to you (if not)?

What is the deal?

The deal is that officially prescription is needed for this drug..

I quess they are thinking that if you are member with long record you are less risk for them selling Sidegra without prescription..

Fascino is chain not some mum and pop shop..

Fair enough.

Also note that the regular staff in those places are NOT licensed pharmacists and are NOT allowed to sell prescription drugs over the counter. Even if the pharmacy sells those drugs without a prescription.

I take a tablet a day (Miracid) to control stomach acid and go to the Fascino near me every couple of weeks to get another couple of boxes.
No prescription - but they won't sell it to me unless the pharmacist is there. If (she - it's always a she) is there they'll sell me as much as I want. (It was prescribed to me at the hospital when I first had the problem treated - 12 years ago.)

Pretty much anything that's "behind the counter" can't be sold unless a pharmacist is present, even though they really don't do anything.

Buddy of mine has blood thinners for his heart condition. Back in Canada - has to have a doctor's prescription to get them.

In Thailand - he can get them at any pharmacy - no prescription needed - but only if the pharmacist is there.

This seems like a good explanation. It was late in the day when they refused compared to the previous day (happy to sell it) when it was lunch time.

Can kids under 18/20 be members?

Perhaps their response was a not very logical attempt to find an excuse.

Here in Chiang Mai, my Thai adult son, his Thai wife and my adult Thai granddaughter have been at the large Fascino shop, when it was time to buy 'Are you a member?" 'NO'

'Do you want to sign up?' YES

Five minutes later membership on our smartphone screens.

Discount applied to current purchase.

I am aware that it isn't a mom and pop shop. That wasn't really the question. Another poster answered with what seems to be a plausible reason.

Fascino wants to sign people up so it can communicate with them. They asked me to sign up on a recent visit and offered a discount.

Chula pharmacy is a short walk from that fasciNO. Give them a try. My preferred pharmacy,

I stopped using it as I now prefer the generic Cialis (Tadalofil).

How much was it? I can get it at a local store (near Walking Street, Soi 16, on Pratumnak Road) for 200 baht a pack, but most other stores charge 400. The Pharmacist always gets it from the back.

Are you sure she didn't ask if you have a member?

If you answered "no", she figured she was doing you a favor...

On a more serious note, maybe the popo is sending foreign volunteers to catch them out?

Are they fakes or original generics?
