Are AN forums addictive?

I will probably get this topic removed I've got a few on the go.

AN formerly ThaiVisa has been hugely helpful to me in the past and also currently.

I haven't used it for a few years with living in different parts of the world but more recently it is has become a community to turn to especially after moving way out into the sticks.

I still maintain a place in the city and am back there in a couple of weeks so there will probably be peace from my posts!

@ moderator huge respect to you guys and the community in general.

I have lived away from my home country a couple of decades nearly and having something like this where you can discuss things with like minded people and get advice even if it is harsh sometimes is a winner!

I don't work for AN just in case anyone is wondering 🙂

What do other people use it for especially the guys with thousands of posts?

For me it's a mix. I work on my PC. And sometimes I want a break. Then I will likely look here. And depending on how much work I have, I take more or less times for those breaks.

I'm sadly addicted to reading the distressing daily posts about air pollution and road accidents.  If there was no AN (or social media) I think I'd be happier (and oblivious).

Couldn't care less about your ignore list and I am not interested as to whether I am on it or not as it doesn't have any effect on me at all .    Makes absolutely no difference to me at all

To answer your topic, yes,

That's the only reason I'm still on here.

I can't say exactly why I post.

Sometimes there are people who want answer. If I can help, I do that.

Sometimes it's funny. Fine.

Sometimes I am annoyed with Trump and other idiots. Then it feels good to write a couple of lines to annoy those MAGA fanboys.

I look regularly at the list of new and trending topics on the right. Half of them are from regulars who are on my ignore list. Some are interesting.

About addictive: I use AN only on my desktop PC at home. I never had the urge to use it when I am away from home.

There are quite a few posters whose intentions seem to be just to annoy other posters , its better not to reply to them and no need to tell them you are going to put them on your ignore list .

   Just do it

You didn't make it to my ignore list until now. I leave it up to you to interpret this as good or bad news.

It makes a difference. If I would ignore you then I would not have seen your post and I would not have reacted to your post, and you would not have reacted to my post because I would not have written it. 😉

Maybe their opinion goes against all common sense

Addictive to answer when I get provoked by in my opinion, and my view of the world, as well adress idiocracy on this forum.

Also try to help out if I feel I have some valuable experience or information.

Not any more, as I tire of the BS, trolls and ignorance.  Even got 2 warnings about my posts on AN staff threads this past week, so I guess I won't be posting on them in the future.

Trolls ruin the topics that interest me, so it's a quick read now.

I'll just have to bore you with any new foods I prepared, or an O&A spot that most will never visit :cheesy:

We all know that you have a peek at the post when someone replies to you .

Don't say that you don't either

I get a notification if someone replies to my post, like everybody else.

And I don't get a notification if that person is on my ignore list. I don't see it and they don't get a reply from me. Win/win.

Do you see on the screen in the threads  , *So and so is on your ignore list , click here to see the post * ?

AN formerly ThaiVisa

X was formerly Twitter, Thailand was formerly Siam, WISE was formerly Transferwise. The Beatles were formerly The Quarrymen, Colin was formerly Bob  etc etc

No need to keep telling us a few years later.

Sure, and 99% of the time I ignore them. Because that is the whole point of the ignore list, that I don't see comments from people which I don't want to see.

Some of us like to remember the good old times. 😉

Really, do you read those?

90% of the time I ignore them. I know the air quality is bad and lots of accidents happen. And I can't do anything about it. Case closed.

Put Georgealbert on your ignore list.

You DO NOT have to log onto AN, Farcebook, Whats Upp, Massager, or ANY Social Media. It is not compulsory.

AN would be addictive if not for trolls, adults that bicker like children, and crybabies that tattle to the mods every time their feelings get hurt.

Yep!

I like to point out that as far as I understand those are the number of positive reactions. Not the number of posts.

I often post to annoy those whose posts have annoyed me.

What could be more fair?
