A casino complex is not the main issue,  as the poor will not travel countrywide to go there.

Study a lot of Behavioral Psychology.  Some people can't prevent themselves from drugs or gambling All the time.  Yes with the right group/family support and motivation they can reduce it.

 

What is wrong with the Government trying to prevent/help people from doing self or financial harm?

Do you have a better recommendation to determine risky behavior that is reasonable, practical, and will be followed consistently.

 

I support the Dream that everyone will do the right thing but my training, experience and knowledge have proven some people need assistance

I am not in favour of casinos nor online gambling...but...it cannot by any means be considered a comprehensive survey "when only 1,310 persons were polled given Thailand has ~72 million people with 71% between age 20 and 70

Yes, I have a better idea. That is to build up a protective system like in most countries with gambling problem. Some people will always have problem with their habits. That´s called addiction, and should never be an excuse for not allowing a thing to exist.

Good news to this kingdom.

Looks like the reason of the Thai Voters was well demonstrated.

Casino is often the warm bed for the international/domestic organized crimes; ideal facility  for money laundering of the  illicit earnings(e.g. from drug trafficking).

 

Also its worst impact on local economy; sucking money out of the town and the country, while creating some jobs to the locals.

Still, in a long term, More Harm Than Good.

It include the increase of gamble addiction among the population.

Self-inflicted  poverty also easily  leads to more money-motive crimes resultingly.

I was thinking a referendum but the military-legislated  Political Act may severely limit freedom of public speech as it did for the 2018 referendum on the proposed new constitution.

Not true, there are casinos here already that we all know of. It is so easy to gamble online, play slots/poker etc. There are illegal poker clubs advertised on social media, owned by senior policemen -  I've been to one.
