Local emergency services were alerted at approximately 20.00 on 27 January, to a motorcycle accident on the railway road in the Nong Prue area of Bang Lamung, Chonburi, resulting in one injury.

Responding swiftly to the report, volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre arrived at the scene to assist. Upon their arrival, they encountered a blue Honda Wave 100 motorcycle lying on the ground with significant damage.

The injured party, a 40-year-old Cambodian woman, was found lying on the roadway, appearing dazed and with abrasions on her body. Rescue personnel provided immediate first aid before she was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Involved in the incident was a black Yamaha Airlock motorcycle, which was being ridden by a German tourist. The tourist remained on-site, cooperating with officials during the investigation.

Mr. Ví, also a Cambodian national and the rider of the Honda Wave, recounted the events leading up to the crash. He stated that he was riding with his girlfriend, who sustained the injuries, when they were following the tourist's motorcycle. Suddenly, the foreign rider braked sharply to turn into a side street, leading to a collision as Mr. Ví was unable to brake in time, lost control and crashed into the back of the Yamaha.

Local authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash.

So this Mr. Ví was riding so close behind the German he did not have enough time to react ?

If you can't stop safely while riding behind another vehicle, then you are riding too closely (tailgating). If you were trained properly you would know this, but as usual, nobody here has the foggiest idea how to safely drive anything with wheels.

No such thing as braking distance here.  50+ years ago I remember learning tables of yards and speeds to get my UK licence.  If you tried to apply it here, you'd end up driving backwards as ignorant (Thai) drivers insert themselves into your safe space.

Believe me,  I curse over these idiots daily. It is of no wonder to me why the deaths/accidents on the roads are so high, especially motorcyclists who seem to think they are invincible. I wouldn't try what they do in a million years, it boggles the mind why anyone would take the chances they do.
