Thai police are tightening the screws on travellers using fake documents, with Pakistanis now facing blacklisting if caught.

 

According to ARY News, the Thai Consulate in Karachi has introduced stricter visa guidelines, ensuring that all applicants submit original, verifiable documents, including genuine airline tickets and hotel bookings.

 

A consulate official confirmed, “Anyone caught submitting forged documents, including travel agents, will face strict action, including blacklisting.”

The move aims to curb fraudulent entries and strengthen immigration control.

 

This crackdown follows a major bust last year, when Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration team foiled an attempt by two travellers using fake visas at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

 

 

During the operation, the FIA arrested Nazar Abbas who attempted to fly to the Turks and Caicos Islands via flight TK-709 with a forged Cuban visa. Umme Salma, a woman caught trying to travel to Iraq on flight IA-432, using a counterfeit Iraqi visa was also nabbed, reported Ary News.

 

An FIA spokesperson confirmed the arrests.

 

“The arrests highlight the growing issue of fraudulent travel documents and strict action will continue against offenders.”

Strict action - - how about massive fines or jail instead of pussy-footing around the problem. 

This is really great after they foiled TWO people trying to get Visas on false papers.

"an attempt by two travellers using fake visas at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport." Let them fly, and notify the Thai authorities. Put them in Bangkok Central for a few years! That will stop it when word gets back to Pakistan!

Why notify the Thai authorities?

They weren't trying to fly to Thailand!

Doesn't sound much like a major bust though, does it?

I wonder if Thai immigration picked up on the fact that even Iraq makes it hard for Pakistanis to enter.

Neither of them wanted to go to Thailand:

Add the most important blacklist of them all. The Russians. Stop the Bratva from operating in Thailand. Don't invite in crime families. 

Just a thought, if they actually arrived in Thailand could they buy a fake degree and get a job teaching English 🤔

There are a lot of Russians now in Samui, the vast majority don't look like they belong to crime gangs. Families with children, no tattoos, neatly dressed.

The headline is more than a bit confusing. It's not about fake visas, it's about Pakistanis using fake documents to obtain Thai visas.

It's bizarre Iraq and Iran and most of the African subcontinent make it harder for Pakistan nationals to enter than Thailand.

Russian friends tell me ANY Russian earning over 60,000 euros a year is involved in crime, with very few exceptions. They may look respectable, but?

Why not take an alternative approach and simply allow them to enter and live here? It seems extremely "Racist" and "Islamaphobic" to prevent these poor people the right to destroy every country and culture exactly how they please.

 

Welcoming thousands of these people to Thailand's shores will provide much needed diversity, bringing prosperity, multiculturism to this country - Yes, there are the odd negatives like the Rapes and the bombs.....a small price to pay - I mean just look at Britain - such cultural enrichment and ethnic diversity has done wonders to transform cities like London, Birmingham and Leeds into a rich mixing bowl of grooming gangs, stabbings, rape, child molestation, what more could you ask for?

 

Personally, I wouldn't make a fuss too much about fake documents and forged papers, it is a simple task for the Thai Embassy in Pakistan to simply bin every single application for visas straight into the bin - simple - solved! Probably worth binning all visa applications from India too as they are another wonderful people to have visiting en masse.

That's not exactly true.

Russians working tech jobs, particularly providing tech services overseas easily earn that much.  Of course they are centered in St. Petersburg, and most Russians who only make 1/20th that much are accusing them out of jealousy.

Bringing more undesirables wouldn't really change the Thai criminal subculture that the majority of expats don't or can't see or completely obvilious too, its already well entrenched here. All it will do is to increase the competition between the Thai underworld and those undesirable forefingers 😉

Slightly off topic, apologies, but I was reading the other day that 1 in 12 people in London now is an illegal immigrant. 

THAILAND HAS LOST THE VISA ISSUE SINCE A LONG TIME WITH ITS FAR TOO GENEROUS VISA POLICE !!!!

 

The effects can no longer be controlled! AND everybody knows what the visa agencies support.

Try to gain entry with the Fake Visa.

Quite a silly thing to do now days.

Unlike half a century ago, visa business is all online and linked to the central department's data base(supposedly).

The immigration can instantly check out its legitimacy.

 

It is not like getting  a false birth/academic papers at home(foreign immigration unable to clarify).

 

Looks like the bearer of such international counterfeit document  was  tricked into believing it works(by the malicious Black Market broker back home).

 

The poor guy...

Reading the OP, it seems the visas are genuine, but they used falsified airline tickets and hotel reservations to apply for those genuine visas?

Those 'visas' are boat shaped though.

You don't say. As to expats in Thailand, yes most are safe using reliable agents whose brown envelopes are all in order, but there's always the outside chance that a careless or less savvy agent will be caught and the expat will have big problems. For that reason I advise people to do it themselves, once you're past the initial learning curve it's not difficult at all, especially if you book your appointment in advance.
