Cheap printer cartridges

Featured Replies

In the UK, there are numerous online vendors selling printer cartridges at a fraction of the cost of the printer manufacturer.

Here, I checked on Shoppee and also went to Tuk Com but the price seemed fairly consistent and high and was surely the product of the printer manufacturer.

Where can you buy cheaper alternatives in Thailand, online or otherwise. I am based in Pattaya.

Officemate outside Go Wholesale for laser cartridges.

Thanks for the helpful reply.

It is inkjet cartridges for a Canon Pixma that I am after.

It's been a while since I've had an inkjet printer that used replaceable ink cartridges, but I seem to recall having them re-filled instead of buying new ones. Small shops in IT malls did this.

Same price on there. Perhaps I am setting my expectations too high! 😀

Also my printer seems to be regional. These cartridges are not available in the UK.

This is common with many products though.

Even if they were the cartridge itself may be geo locked.....

I bought a cartridge in the UK for an old printer I had here and did not know - the only reason I bought in UK was they had none here and I was going there at the time.

When it failed to work I went online and apparently an issue with some manufacturers - especially HP which mine was.

How much are the cartridges if I may ask. I just bought this at office mate outside go wholesale. It is refillable and they give you an extra bottle of the black ink in XL bottle. Also 2 year in home service warranty.

Many inkjet printers that come with cartridges are cheaper to throw away and buy new, than to replace the cartridges themselves.

600 Baht for one CL57 cartridge. I don't use the printer that much. Maybe 10 sheets per week. It can vary. I am guessing the tank is difficult to transport and can be messy particularly if you are a bit clumsy like me. I just figured it was easier to buy 2 or 3 or 4 cartridges a year but 600 Baht per time seems over the top.

Perhaps the tank is the way to go.

There used to be places all over town that would refill cartridges. But since the printer companies have gone to tank printers and selling their own ink, those places have disappeared.

I think a lot of the new cartridges contain some sort of chip to control usage and prevent use of unofficial ones. I think my next printer will be one that uses refillable cartridges.

I don't think that you will  find much of a difference in price, but try invadeit:

Whilst it was not listed, the other cartridge for the printer, the black cartridge was listed. And the good news was, that was half the price. So, perhaps I will persevere with these cartridges for a while.

If you contact them, they can order for you if they don't have in stock.

You may find that only cartridges made by the printer manufacturer will work. I had an HP printer for which I bought refilled cartridges and later identical non-HP ones. My printer declared both fake and refused to work with them.

I have another Canon printer in the UK and the fake ones always work. But I agree, it can be hit and miss and the manufacturers build in security devices.
