The most disturbing thing to me is the hours that they must have pored over and argued about each line in the pamphlet.  They could have sent the participants around to clean the toilets instead of sitting in those meetings.

You know, something that actually improves the work product and benefits the passengers...

A Network Rail spokesperson reaffirmed the rationale behind these changes, stating: "Passengers are at the heart of our tone-of-voice guidelines, which have been in place for several years and are common practice in customer-facing organisations."

What's the headline?

"Passenger" is gender-neutral. So are many of the nouns and pronouns listed in the article. All of the verbs are gender-neutral.

Passengers is such a silly word anyway. Who passenges by train? You travel by train. If u have to change it just use the word travellers which includes everyone without perceived prejudice.

the reason is in the meaning, traveller can be the driver/one opertaing it, passenger is not the one driving or operating it: also their is no mention of the gender of the person meaning it is for both male & female showing that the removal of it for being gender specific is total BS

passenger
noun [ C ]

uk

 /ˈpæs.ən.dʒər/ us

 /ˈpæs.ən.dʒɚ/

A2
a person who is travelling in a vehicle but is not driving it, flying it, or working on it:
airline/rail/train/car passengers

 passenger train

Yeah, I was just being a bit facetious with passengers.
