Am I expecting to much..

Wife went into an Amazon cafe in Lamphun Northern Thailand.

I had a latte coffee Carry out from Amazon hot. She had iced coffee.

As soon as she handed it to me the cup it felt very light.

I sent her back in to complain.

They told her that it

is correct you get 1 shot of whatever that means.

Is this normal. I feel done by at 65 baht for what was not even half a cup off coffee.

Maybe it's my fault but if I went into a pub and ordered a pint off beer and the they served you half a pint in a pint glass I would be very miffed.

Needless to say that we will not be going back to amazon again.

Yeah - I thought I was getting my wife a treat at a fuel stop Amazon coffee....I ended up the same as you did....

I don't drink coffee, so I was not sure what to order.....That was years ago.....

I've never gone in an Amazon again.....

If you order a cafe latte, you should get one shot of espresso.....but the remainder of the cup should be filled with the steamed milk, light foam.

It appears they made a cappuccino instead of a latte - which is still only one shot of espresso but much more foamed milk than a latte.

That's pretty standard anywhere unless you order a double shot.

Yes that is normal in Thailand. 7/11 has Moccona coffee for 42 baht. Cafes are overpriced.

You may need to temper your expectations of any coffee chain that cares more about its bottom line than its customers.

Personally, I search out and try small non-chain coffee shops which look like they know what they are doing.

If what I get is good coffee, reasonable in price and quantity, they have a repeat customer.

Starbucks, Amazon, Black Canyon etc. - I don't bother anymore.

Never had a problem at Starbuck's.

But the price is probably the highest of any coffee, even still... reliable product and for the frequency I buy coffee there I can afford it.

Unfortunately not all hotels have kettles in their rooms.

What you get at these big coffee chains can vary considerably depending on how you order what you want - preferably in Thai.

Know the ingredients and specify exactly the amounts.

Otherwise, it's pot luck.

Nice! But in planes? What do you plug it into on a plane, as the picture doesn’t show a USB connector?

They lost me when they quit accepting cash.  Went 2 doors down and got a great coffee for half the money and they took my cash.  Starbucks is still better if all you want to do is sit and watch the scenery walk by.  But I feel bad sitting there with no spend...

My wife really likes Starbucks and Amazon drinks - so I only get an Americano usually large and have never had any complainable bit about amoun and the price is that advertised on the board.

most small coffee shops will give a full hot cup coffee which tastes great by ordering a Latte Lorne '   or hot Latte ranging from 35 - 45 baht  ....     even the Bin Tao machines give a full cup of hot Latte for 35 baht.

seems you overpaid for less than half a cup of what looked like a cappuccino and not a hot Latte ...

When Thai's make hot coffee at home they don't make a normal coffee mug full.  They make one that looks like a shot glass full using those 3-in-1 packs.

So that is pretty normal for a hot coffee here.

I guess that is a functional description of a kettle.

What was that thing called again?
