Close your borders and take care of your own people, is what their leaders should be doing. Instead they are distracting their people with big bad putin and big bad trump. Europeans would rather take a vacation in Iran than Israel? From an outsiders perspective, you guys should know better, and yet still after covid you put your trust in liberal media. Its time to send mohammed back home.

Have you been in the hot sun too long?

Europe doesn't want your blinkered myopic view. You do you, build your walls, send whoever home you like, let Europe do what Europe wants to do. The absolute last thing Europe wants to do is follow Am

Luckily most Europeans don't have such a limited black and white view like you. Putin is bad. Trump is bad. There is no question about that. Now it's time for the Europeans to find their own way.

Europe is now under communism. That's been the long term plan of the European commission.

The timing is impeccable. A clip from '60 Minutes' in the U.S. on the censorship of speech in Germany. They're not alone in the EU, as the UK has rather harsh censorship laws in place. The CBS reporter seems enthusiastic about the practice.

An incredible and totally illogical statement coming from you given your posting record!

Also the post you quoted was not directed at you and had no insults, just facts!

Speaking of censorship, a clip of German diplomat Christoph Heusgen attempting to finish his remarks at the Munich conference has just up and  'disappeared' from my post earlier here. Just a big block of black space there now where the clip resided.

OK, search for the ultra-viral clip yourself of Heusgen tearfully breaking down, unable to finish. Looks like he's also unable to process the new reality that Uncle Sugar is all tapped-out after three years of biliion$ and billion$ of dollars out the door and no auditing of what they were spent for and where they actually ended up. Even Zelinsky says there's $100 billion missing, unaccounted for. Lot of clues pointing to corruption and kickbacks. What else is new?

So when Heusgen broke down the EU diplomat crowd applauded him enthusiastically (biggest applause of the conference?), even rising to their feet for a standing O! Ushered off the stage sobbing in the arms of a woman, what a walk off! Stunning visuals. All that was missing was some dramatic music!

They want a war, fight it themselves. Uncle Sugar is getting out of the business of using its treasure to fight the war in the EU's backyard. The tea leaves should have been read on this months ago. Instead, they set themselves up for some unnecessary, self-inflicted shock therapy. Spare us the tears, though.

And use your favorite search engine to find clips of instances of police in the UK going after people for social media posts. They're quite shocking. The U.S. does not have that value in common with the EU. 'Nuff said.

Putin is bad. Trump is bad. There is no question about that. Now it's time for the Europeans to find their own way. That will obviously be difficult. Appeasing Putin and/or Trump is certainly not a good idea.

I’d agree with that. We are in a new world, with Trump cosying up with Putin and stitching up Ukraine. It’s time for Europe to get serious.

1) Each country should build up a strong military force and join a European NATO.

2) Any country that has close Putin ties or peddles Russian propaganda, like Hungary and Slovakia, should be excluded, and kicked out of the EU.

3) More European countries should develop their own nuclear weapon capability, and France and the UK should decouple from the US. If you have a capability you won’t constantly be threatened by Russia.

4) The lesson is not to talk and appease, it is to show overwhelming strength and firepower. Europe is wealthy enough to outcompete Russia and if it really concentrated its resources they could end the incompetent Russians on the battlefield.

5) Europe has to develop its own weapons systems, and not rely on the US. Again, the capability is there.

it just requires focus and willpower. The German war machine in the 1930’s was formidable … there is no reason it can’t be again.

There is no need to fear Putin, if they do the above he’d be shaking in his boots. The question - do they have the strength of mind to do it. If we don’t we will be condemning or children and grandchildren to be the slaves of criminal empires.

Lazy because they thought they had security covered. Now they are scared, and that might be enough to change their mind set.

Really?

Would it make you feel better if I would list some good things which they did?

The war which Putin started in Ukraine puts him in the bad category for me.

And Trump, just his latest stupid Gaza Rivera comments are enough to blow up that whole region. I think that is pretty bad. And obviously there are many many other items to add to that bad list.

Bost of them can't be trusted and should not be trusted. It's good to stay away from both of them.

No character is black and white... you said it yourself. Picking out one trump potential! action does not make a whole person bad. Maybe watching too much ÖRR aka Rotfunk? Cannot argue much for Putin agreed, but russians here would remark he made his country strong which I strongly disagree with.

Trump was reducing medication cost and lowering corporate as well as income taxes.

It makes sense and it's possible....in theory.

However, it makes me laugh to read that Europeans are like this, or should do like that, etc.. As concerns defense matter, European countries are far from being homogenous: they are in different geographical, economic, and political situations, and don't necessarily have the same interests.

As concerns the EU, it has no defense prerogative and can only support initiatives by member States.

A good example is the weapon industry. There are excellent military airplanes, boats, tanks, helicopters, missile systems, etc... in Europe. The problem is that they tend to compete with each other rather to unite in order to reach a critical mass of production of standardised products. The French don't agree with the Swedes, the Italian don't agree with the French, etc...

As concerns nuclear weapon, the only solution is nuclear proliferation in Europe. The idea that France or UK may be in charge of protecting other countries is a nonsense. Nuclear power can only be national. The country who bombs is the one which will be bombed in retaliation and vice versa. However, the know-how can be transferred. I am not sure UK can do it without the authorisation of the U.S., but at least the French have an independent technology.

European countries together will never match the military power of the U.S. and have probably no interest in doing so. However, they can easily surpass the military power of Russia if they are united, as Russia's is an economic dwarf.

Will they be able to unite and convergence on a common policy? That's another story....

The UK owns and develops its warheads, but the Tridents belong to the US, However, the US has no power to prevent a Royal Navy sub from launching. Ultimately a sub captain operates from the Letter of Last Resort. Its a completely different process from the US. In the US, the President has sole authority.

In he UK, the doctrine is that nuclear weapons are only launched after an attack. The PM, from Pindar, will issue the order. However, submarine captains in the event of an evident stroke on London, or a cessation of radio contact for 4 hours, may open the letters and read the instructions from the PM. The instructions might be to launch, not to retaliate or to find safe harbour in Australia.

So the UK doctrine is not just national. UK policy includes a strike on an ally as a reason to launch.

Sure, the US might protest afterwards, but it won't really matter.
