  • Thailand is just tourist unfriendly, partly caused by outdated laws. There should be a revision of several laws just to make it matching with era we live in and not how it was 50-75 years back..

  • Absolute nonsense.  It was OTT and unnecessary.  Waste of time and resources (immigration and the courts).  Dumb stupidity.  Typical ill thought out response that you see here (a bit like your passive

It was just the Brazilians guys girlfriend who wasn't happy about it

In this thread's case, I'm torn between which is the most tiresome, xenophobia in Thailand or AI created news copy resembling a thesaurus.

Eh, you must have misunderstood me , I have stated that I would nt call for anyone to be deported for playing music on stage in Thailand or in any other Country and that goes for ALL Nationalities in any Country .

People shouldn't be arrested or deported for playing music on stage and that's for all nationalities in all Countries

Please could you retract  you claim about my personal bigotry, as it must have been you that misunderstood

you are failing to understand your own anti-imigrant bigotry. You are making false categories to hide it.

Good job Thai police.     Law was implemented.   You cannot operate business without registration first.

When laws change  you can stay ... till then RESPECT the laws.  Don't be a d. ...

The amount of papers needed for a workpermit is terrible and the process is taking a long time...Why not make things easier? just by using a good computer system

This current escalation was set off by the Israelis rampaging and vandalizing the Pai hospital.
Thai businesses have put up signs banning Israelis from entering.

The police announced they were going to round up foreigners breaking the laws but this band stupidly thought they would continue despite the warnings.

The  police showed more tolerance to the Irishman than they did to the Israelis and to Matheus who has an Israeli partner.
Local social media and mainstream media is quite opening is discussing how the locals are annoyed by the behavior of the Israelis, so no surprise they were targeted.

I am pleased that the Thais are not painting all foreigners with the same brush for the behavior of a certain group and are focusing on the trouble makers and not dragging us all down with them.

As regards to Brian. I think the B120,000 " bail money" could have something to do with the RTP tolerance towards him. Tea Eye Tea.😉

A professional in any field who enters a foriegn country on a tourist visa and then plies their trade in an establisment that benefits from that work is breaking immigration law, and should not be surprised at consequences. That basic concept is most likely part of your country's Immigration legislation.

Would a house painter or carpenter take on a job  when on holiday? Musicians are not as special as many of them think.

We all like music, and most of us are happy to get a show for the price of a few drinks instead of paying massive, overinflated sums for a concert ticket.  The victims are the local band who miss out on a booking or the competing venue that loses customers.

To characterise it as jamming, is disingenuous if doing it in a commercial establishment for an audiance.

Whats different in Thailand is the unwieldy work permit process, instead of a more simplified business or entertinment visa for those who come for work.

Enforcement of the law here can be quite lax which may tempt many to breach the rules, but when action is taken it's usually over the top without comprimise nor compassion. Our countries may be more flexible in the same situation.

Musicians are not known for intellect and they can have a superiority complex, but laws apply to all.

You mean the emotional trauma and financial loss that they alone caused themselves?   If they had not offended they would have suffered no trauma, nor loss.

Aha...its you, again, Loo.

Maybe read my post next tome instead of jumping up and going to arms.

The vile brutality shown him was way out of context to his " crime"
