These are the same IT whixkids  who are going to organise and implement a new taxation system for foreigners. 

It system supplier did not agree to deliver thick enough envelopes so deal was off. 

I don't think anyone is really surprised it doesn't work.

So 50% were not recorded correctly.?

It’s interesting that there is nothing wrong with the system per se. The article talks of the system being maxed out and of unpaid license fees. So the issue is, as usual, one of maintenance.

 

Whether it’s tsunami warning systems, speed cameras or immigration systems, they can all be installed and work correctly at first, but give it a few months or a year and gradually it all breaks down due to no maintenance being performed.

 

Why? Well maintenance is low cost and low margin, therefore low opportunities to skim off the top. Big new installations to replace poorly maintained systems/equipment are a gravy train.

Just took a domestic flight this morning none of what you say is true.  All the facial recognition screens were blocked with a large X.

When they first revamped the system it worked ok for me for 2 years albeit a bit clunky then all of last year despite getting it submitted ok it was ,as reported by others, getting rejected. Asking at the office on visits just elicited the unhelpful clueless, "Error". There's just no consistency, not effective management and a culture of 1 step forward then 1 step back. But I benefitted for 2 years... TIT

This is what happens when you give major contracts to friends or siblings who have no idea how to do anything except kiss up.  Extrapolate that onto the whole country and you have thailand.  The amount of incompetence up top is mind blowing.

No !!  some stop working yes but most downgrade the  options so the program works but not fully and this is what is happing here, plus all databases require maintanace  old data deleted ect thai do not know what maintance is
