Zelinsky: The End Is Near

I imagine that Volodymyr Zelensky is going to be "made an offer he can't refuse" soon.  Retire to one of his many villas and enjoy the "savings" he has socked away for a rainy day from some offshore bank accouts - or - be "retired" with extreme prejudice.  Either way, the end is near for Mr. Z.

"QUESTION: When President Trump posted that President Zelensky is a dictator without elections, what are you thinking?

SECRETARY RUBIO: I think President Trump is very upset at President Zelensky and – and some – and rightfully so. Look, number one, Joe Biden had frustrations with Zelensky. People shouldn’t forget it. There are newspaper articles out there about how he cursed at him in a phone call because Zelensky, instead of saying thank you for all your help, is immediately out there messaging what we’re not doing or what he’s not getting.

I think the second thing is, frankly, I was personally very upset because we had a conversation with President Zelensky – the Vice President and I, the two – three of us. And we discussed this issue about the mineral rights, and we explained to them, look, we want to be in a joint venture with you – not because we’re trying to steal from your country, but because we think that’s actually a security guarantee. If we’re your partner in an important economic endeavor, we get to get paid back some of the money the taxpayers have given – close to $200 billion. And it also – now we have a vested interest in the security of Ukraine. And he said, sure, we want to do this deal; it makes all the sense in the world – the only thing is I need to run it through my legislative process, they have to approve it. I read two days later that Zelensky is out there saying: I rejected the deal; I told them no way, that we’re not doing that. Well, that’s not what happened in that meeting. So, you start to get upset by somebody – we’re trying to help these guys."

Long live Ukraine, three heroic years of fighting a blood thirsty autocrat.

Down with American appeasers, cowards the lot.

Far less than 200 billion was spent.

The money spent went straight to US arms manufacturers.

In the geo political area, US and Europe are, or maybe were, in general aligned. Russia and China are on the other side. So yes, Russia was an opponent and is much weaker now than 3 years ago.

If you will remember Russia was to all intents and purposes an ally by 2020. Didn't our Hillary even sell uranium to them? Then along comes the stupid Russia collusion hoax where the entire left falsely and without evidence blamed HRC's electoral thumping on Russia which led to years of demonization of Russia up till the Biden administration started firing long range missiles into Russia and Nordsteam go woof. Cheers lefties, nice one.

Fascinating what festers in the fevered imaginations of right wing brain pans. Its like you believe the US gave Zelensky a big bag a cash or something.

Military aid is basically credits to purchase US equipment, or at least 60 to 75 percent of the total given would be this way. In truth it is US taxpayer money directly given to US business.   Now with Ukraine, they would be buying other needed parts and equipment from other Euro countries & and with the remainder, to keep things running. This is how military aid has always been. This is how USAID is too. You think they pass out cash to the starving. Or US farmers give big sacks of wheat or rice to the starving third world out of the kindness of their hearts?!  They a re paid for it. US taxpayer money paid to US farmers or Business. The shipped OS and distributed.

Ok, back to the sanctimonious handwringing, howling, & gnashing of teeth.

Sp if you believe that, you obviously know that President Zelensky has many villas and has stolen so much money.

So tell us all exactly how many villas President Zelensky has, and how much money YOU believe has has stolen and from whom. Links and proof would be nice, but preferably reliable, rather than allegations which you seem to be so fond of making.

You lot are pulling these numbers out of your anus. If you are going to lie keep the story the same at least. Trump says its $500bn. He is of course lying more than you, as the records one can pull online is that Europe has taken the lead in providing aid, with a total of approximately $204.1 billion in cumulative aid and pledged funds through 2030.  In comparison, the United States has provided around $183 billion in aid to Ukraine and currently just issuing threats and insults.

Of course, you and others are correct.  Zelensky is a pauper.  Hell, he can't even afford a business suit or the toiletries necessary to bathe himself.

According to the Daily Mail, the deal is done. Zelensky has surrendered and granted mineral rights to the US.  I'm sure he's getting a nice retirement package somewhere for his cooperation.

Interestingly, America granting Ukraine a "security shield" would seem to indicate America is going to be withdrawing from NATO, because I don't see any other context in which Russia would accept this.

They'll accept it in return for keeping the Donbass as it will be labelled the Tri-party security act or something stupid like that. And the USA will give Russia a guarantee that UKr forces won't attack. Wait and see, these are the weasel moves of old men after wars. Putin can then crow "no NATO in Ukraine.

Weasel moves of old men after the war?

Did we Allies not set out to defeat Germany and free Europe during WW2? Then walked away leaving half of Europe behind the Iron Curtain as we judged it wasn't worth charging into the Red Army to free Poland et al?
