I just cannot understand how so many commenters here are pro-Putin.  Especially when so many of them complain about stuff... that's SO MUCH WORSE for the side they support, whether it's what Putin does or what Trump does.  Moral bankruptcy, yes, but the hypocrisy is really disgusting.

Trump's behaviour in his 'spat' with Zelenskyy was outrageous, deliberate and planned. How many times does he want the man to say thank you?  This was all part of Trumps aim to get rid of Zeleneskyy to suit Trump's new pal, Putin. If you couldn't see that, you need help - the man isn't even a good actor!

 

Its shocking that you yanks who support Trump still can't see the wood for the trees.  Thankfully not all yanks are the same but I never thought I'd see the day when a US President aligned with a thug like Putin - a real 'dictator' who has no opposition as such because he either has them killed of locks them up. Absolutely the best thing to do is to normalize US-Russia relationships, drop the useless sanctions, and reestablish trade.
The US has no duty at all to be Team America - World Police, as all it does is burn tax-payer money for the benefit of the MIC and "Defense" contractors.  Study history - NATO push itself right against Russia's borders and then use Ukraine as a battering ram. 
Ukraine could have signed the Istanbul Peace Agreements it initialed but chose not to at the urging of Boris Johnson.  Unprovoked?  Oft repeated by war-hawks with skin in the game of war.

Because the US is overspending? This overspend helps US defense contractors and the US military that can't find billions, or is it trillions, of dollars. Also don't forget the percentages between the countries are not comparable with the US including e.g. military pensions where others don't.

2. The US and Europe commit to arming Ukraine heavily if Russia invades again.

This commitment is highly credible because the allies are doing that now.

Nato allies could also sign a legally binding document and stockpile specific weapons systems that could be sent quickly to Ukraine in case of a renewed attack.

We should remember, Ukraine’s own forces have protected the country for three years, preserving 80% of Ukrainian territory and forcing Russia into a costly war of attrition.

If those forces remain strong, it would hardly be a foregone conclusion that Putin or his successor will make another attempt – not because the Kremlin can be trusted to keep its word but because it would suffer enormous losses for little gain.

Ukraine, Europe and the US must use their leverage at the negotiating table to get Russia to stop fighting without requiring Ukraine to disarm.

Russia might agree, having kept Ukraine out of Nato, and Nato, and its members’ forces, out of Ukraine.
