  • We haven't any details yet, it is supposed to work from May 1st. You will probably need to do it before travelling to Thailand.

  • I saw you edited your original post.  If she's coming in August then the e-visa she seems to have applied for will have expired, they are issued for entry 3 months from date of issue.  So she will nee

PM Prayut Chan-o-cha briefed media yesterday after the cabinet’s weekly meeting and revealed the government has agreed to temporarily scrap the Tor Mor 6 immigration form.

The TM6 form is the arrival/departure card foreigners fill in providing passport details, name and address, etc., on their entry and exit from Thailand.

TM6 was still required at some borders in 2023 and 2024

I was in Laos September 2023 which required a completed TM6 form

The government has suspended the requirement for foreigners who enter Thailand by land or sea to fill out TM 6 immigration forms from April 15 until Oct 15.

The cabinet approved the suspension on April 9 in response to a proposal by Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, ministry spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul said on Friday.

Why not wait until it's been officially announced? Anything now is just speculation or cause for anxiety.

So why does no other country use one? Or require you to report to immigration within 24 hours of arrival?

The hoops we have to jump through are a fricken joke, e.g. 90 day reporting, annual extensions, and if that's not enough, like you said, report to immigration within 24 hours of arrival.

The part is the best part I look forward to, i.e. drive 90km to these bozos to say, hey, I'm back, then drive 90 kilometres back, thanks for nothing.

What about those that do not possess a mobile phone? Will the old written method be in operation?

When you fill out an MDAC online before arriving in Malaysia, your entry details are stored digitally, eliminating the need for a physical stamp in your passport.

No entry or exit stamps so no worries if your passport pages are nearly full

I want my passport stamped so I can prove to the taxman where I was and when.

There are zero details of the proposed system.  So until they are announced it's anyone's guess how things will work.

From chat gpt:

Starting May 1, 2025, Thailand will require all foreign visitors to complete a Digital Arrival Card (TM6 form) before entering the country. This applies to travelers arriving by air, land, or sea, including those from visa-exempt countries. The digital TM6 form is free of charge and must be submitted online prior to your arrival. It collects personal and travel details, such as passport information and your address in Thailand.

As of February 2025, the digital TM6 system is not yet operational, and the traditional paper-based TM6 form remains suspended. Therefore, travelers do not currently need to complete any arrival card when entering Thailand. However, starting May 1, 2025, you will need to complete the digital TM6 form before your trip. It's advisable to check the latest updates from official Thai immigration sources or consult your airline prior to departure to ensure compliance with the new requirements.

From AI results...

"Thailand's Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is an online system that allows foreign visitors to register their arrival details before entering the country"

One important word is  online

No mobile phone makes it more difficult.

There might be a increased reliance on Travel Agents once again for travelers who have no online access. The last time I used a Travel Agent was in 2013.

The "chat gpt" got this wrong.

The latest information I have seen on the timing of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), also known as the "TM.6 online" system is the following:

Quote

…The TDAC system is expected to be fully operational by May 1…

Please note differece between "…will require…" and "…expected to be…"

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

If Singapore is any model - and it often is with Thai procedures - then

no, it will not be a requirement for boarding

yes, it can be done in the arrivals hall

At this point I wouldn't worry about it. Once it is "soft-launched" there will be more details.

Indeed, one hopes they follow the Singapore and Malaysian format. Completed online up to 3 days prior to travel or can be completed in the arrivals hall if necessary.

Unlikely.  Those without "online access" will be using them now.  I suspect a boom in the travel agency industry is not coming as a result of this.

Looked at Immigration site , none the wiser.

A brief google suggests it is a digital version of the old TM6 "landing /arrival card?

I have a multi entry non O with re entry permit.

Will it be an app?

Will it be via eMail ?

Will it work by text to my Thai mobile?

I am happy to comply but the similar Malay system very clunky esp if entering address in correct formats

Has anyone seen a template please?

I am never in a hurry as partner always late pick up from Swampy so can do it once landed unles airlines will make it a boarding requirement. as refusal  makes airline liable to deport

Any advice or experience welcome thank you in anticipation.

They are said to start that scheme in April.

When are your travelling to this kingdom?

Full details are yet to be confirmed(at this stage, they are only talking about it).

So that no one really knows what will it be like.

Conclusion: Stop Worrying.  And Start Waiting for anything solid comes out.

In Thailand, quite a few things won't really happen as they were talked about...

That is the official Thai immigration website.

Tell us wat you want to do - and why you tried to scan a QR code there.

to find the 90 day app.

I scanned a few times and it is opening for me now

Thanks Jack, maybe it was the scanner of my new phone took a few goes , I realize it isnt an app I save it to my phone but just upgraded.

Thanks all , still no sign of their Digital Arival other than they are asking for staff tablets!

Seems to be the exact replica of the Cambodia Digital Arrival Card. You just enter in the website page dedicated to this procedure your name, passport number, address in Cambodia, flight number and airport of entry. Then after entering these infos you get a QR code with your name above it. The IO scans your QR code, still checks your passport, apply a small sticker on your passport and then you go. For Cambodia it can be done 4 days before entering the country. So you can print it or keep it digital on your phone or pad.

When you leave Cambodia you get another small sticker on your passport page next to the arrival sticker with your departure date.

If you have an e-visa the digital arrival card is free but if you don’t you must pay the same amount as the e-visa (US$60).

Perhaps trying to include 300b "insurance" with the TDAC..

They did say the TDAC would be free, but that was last week.

Charging 300 baht for TDAC solves the collection issue, and the issue of not charging Thais.

But maybe they'll hold the 300 baht fee for the ETA?

The thirst for a 10.5 Billion baht slush fund, managed by the Minister of Tourism and Sport is palpable.

"Enhanced image of Thailand as a modern and tourist-friendly destination"

Is it a joke ?
