You're in a relatively low cost "retirement paradise".... yet many of you expend a lot of effort arguing about Donald Trump.

 

Why?  What's the point?  All politicians suck...you know that.

 

Just enjoy your retirement.

It keeps me mentally active refuting the crap MAGAs post.

I'm (relatively newly) retired.

 

I don't want to see the world, and the western liberal democratic society in which I was raised, and in which I lived and served most of my life destroyed on the altar of one man's amoral intolerant ego, for the benefit of a small handful of extremely rich, and wanting to be yet richer, people. If the damage was limited to the United States, the perhaps I could watch in a more detached manner, but the events of this week, together with his (Trump's) previously expressed intentions towards Greenland/Denmark, Canada and Panama raise global concerns.

 

There is much to find fault in with Western Liberal Society, but of one thing I am certain, it is infinitely better than the alternative proffered by Trump and his MAGA movement.

 

Less philosophically perhaps (?) I have a 19 year old daughter, and I want her to live in a better world.

The saving grace is that because he has built a cult of personality, something completely missing from his known brood, that cult will quickly disappear, quicker than Boerbet finishing off a theater audience.

 

He's not a healthy man. I'd give him 2 years before he croaks.Vance will be in, but Vance isn't too bright, so he won't win the 2028 election; I'm not even sure he will be nominee. Of course, still time for a lot of damage to occur.

It seems very likely now that Trump and the MAGA crowd will stop social security payments to those of us living abroad.  That certainly is worthy of worrying and arguing about.

Well I'd love my children to have as good a life as I've had. If my only goal in life was to enjoy retirement I's rather take an early exit.
