Has Trump Caused The Crypto Bubble To Go BANG!

Featured Replies

Trumps pre elecion hype and his bullish and rousing early presidency comments regarding how the US will be stockpilers of Bitcoin, XRP, SOL, ADA and Etherium becoming the future crypto capital of the world drove investment levels and prices sky high. Yet now in the last week or so we hear a very different story from him, we learn that there will be no investment from the US goverment but they will fill their coffers with cypto realised from crime proceeds only. The market didn't like this and reacted accordingly  resulting in crypto losing between 25% to 40% of its value and still falling. I would imagine that people who bought based on Trumps retorhic are quietly seething now.

As any savvy investor knows markets react to positive rumours and news, but where is the positive news now? The truth is there isn't any and as a result there's nothing to support the price especially Bitcoin whose value in directly related to increasing demand. Unless Trump and his cohorts provide some kind of support then we could see Bitcoin back down in the $30K range or less. Maybe its time to get out now before the bubble is fully deflated.

Who knows what dealings are going on in the background before each one of Trump's announcements.

Anyone that "invests" in a made up nonsense "currency" have only themselves to blame if it all goes wrong, IMO.

What if it doesn't go wrong and in fact turns out really well?

So what? It goes up one year and down another year.

If you look at long term charts you can see that there is an 'aberration' or deviation which started in the election week, the prices went up a lot since then and now it appears to be falling back towards the previous range which lasted for a great deal of last year.

I won't be surprised if we're back under $70k once the hype has worn off with a repeat of 'massive increases' much later in the year.

For now I'm all cash and have been for some time.

Crypto, though volatile, has been holding value since 2009 when Bitcoin was introduced. That seems pretty real and no-nonsense to me.

ill bet you have had shorter marriges

One could say that about the Mickey Duck mortgages in 2008. How did that work out for everyone?

Even ponzi schemes work for a while.

Like all economic scams, it depends on a lot of suckers to make a few people rich.

I remember a colleague boasting how well the stock market was working for her and how much she was making, and then one day the boasting stopped and the crying started.

"massive increases' much later in the year"
And just what news will cause the markets to react resulting in massive increases?

It's going wrong already for those who believed Trumps retorhic and bought at recent highs.

Lower prices encourage those who sold at higher prices like the end of last year for example to repurchase for the next round of 'up up up'

So lower prices create more demand and there are people who trade this stuff 24/7. I rarely trade it at all but when I do I like to sell at higher prices and then sit patiently waiting for increasingly longer periods of time before rebuying.

If the price continues to go up while I'm waiting - then so what - I've already made my money - it will fall back eventually and it will be time to rebuy.

I've been at this for a very long time, more than a decade

Despite his wealth which was mostly stolen, this is not what I would call a highly successful man. Some might even call him a rather spectacular failure.

Unfortunetly this article is not about YOU. It is about all those people who bought in to Trumps hype and are now suffering the consequences of seeing their investment crash.

Wow! Sounds like you have hit upon an astoundingly novel investment strategy: buy low and sell high. Truly revolutionary.

Yes, buying at all time highs is often not the wisest move.

If anyone bought because of "the worst man on the planet's hype" they deserve to lose, IMO. If I want financial advice, I'll ask someone that knows about such, not a politician.

Oh it flatten a long time before this run. But yes was an avid investor in the early days, saw all the bull<deleted> hype from Hoskinson, watched the money pile in and saw it rise from mere pennies to an all time high of £2.80. Then I watched it fall off a cliff and descend back to mere pennies. Luckily I got out with a decent profit.

You didn't fix anything, you just changed the narrative it to suit your conceited pompous attitude. In case you haven't realised this thread is not about bashing people.
