Hi all,

I recently obtained my new motorcycle permit from the DLT office - however I noticed after I had already left that the date of birth was incorrect (one day off from the real date).

The documents I submitted to the person taking the photo had all the correct information so I assume this is simply a human error.

Is it possible to go to the DLT office again and get this fixed without any extra documents? Or do I have to wait until my license renewal date to get this fixed.

I understand that there could be significant legal ramifications to using a license with false information on it so I'm extremely worried. Any advice is welcome.

I have had this experience two times in 10 years at immigration and DMV. The immigration one was the visa validity finish date which was clearly wrong and clearly their mistake. Both occasions they claimed it was my fault for not checking before I left 🤣even though they had all the correct information in front of them....Thai victim blaming / deflection at its best lol.

As to your issue you have two choices.....sit in the DMV for another half day to get it sorted or just roll with it....Is it just the day, month or year of birth that is off? I have been here 10 years and never used any of my licenses for serious identification apart from traffic stops etc. Could be an issue say in an accident where it could void your claim? I doubt it but who knows here. You have to weigh that all up for yourself.

555 wow - that sounds frustrating.

It's just the day off - the month and the year are correct - but still I am a bit worried regarding legal stuff, etc. I did plan to use the license for ID verification such as bank accounts, etc.

In that case - I'll go to the DLT office again early and get it sorted out and will update in here what happens.
