Couldn't get through this without the China-hating contingent of AseanNow showing up to spew vitriol at the CPC and average Chinese in general.  Where do you people come from?  Why live in a country that borders China?  <headshake>

One does not make a contingent.

infrastructure is ripe

Over ripe.   Infrastructure is antiquated based on 1980 standards.  Chinese, Japanese and Korean people expect infrastructure to be solid, safe, convenient and Thailand has none of this.

I've been noticing it for a while there is not many around, in the past around Rawai there is a big boat company there we used to see loads of Chinese being dropped off for the boat trips,

Then there is a hotel on the main road going to Central just after King power, closed down the place is only about 5 years old, they were catering for the Chinese tour groups, always loads of coaches on the car park, None it's empty,

Much of China's infrastructure looks good on the outside, but not built to last.
