Couldn't get through this without the China-hating contingent of AseanNow showing up to spew vitriol at the CPC and average Chinese in general.  Where do you people come from?  Why live in a country that borders China?  <headshake>

One does not make a contingent.

Don't worry, tomorrow TAT will tell us all the number from China is increasing by a million %

Fairly sure they did a couple of days ago.

Beat me to it. Just propaganda meant for those with no brains. MNM is also very adept at this.

The lack of substantial growth in Chinese tourism is likely to impact Thailand's overall foreign arrival targets.

Great news for anyone that loves Thailand. The horde destroyed Maya Bay and ruined Koh Larn.

I for one will not regret if the number of Chinese tourists returns to that in the 1990s, which IMO was the golden age of tourism in Thailand.

We don't hate the Chinese.  We just hate the way they behave.  If they stopped shouting, and pushing, and cutting in line, and spitting, we would stop complaining.

Thailand has no border with China btw.

Wow, chill dude, you’re irate. Get out of bed the wrong side? Drunk? Many here are just normal people that have had bad experiences with hordes of visiting Chinese and you’re not convincing anyone otherwise. I’m sure there are nice people in China and also visiting, but they generally don’t do themselves any favours when they come over in those big bolshy groups and start upsetting the locals. Any one people (including my own) piling into another country en-masse ain’t great and if the number from China is significantly reduced, it can only be a good thing.
BTW, in case you hadn’t noticed, this is Thailand not Burma. 😋

Didn't they say, earlier this week, they expect an increase, in the next few months.

Um, seems geography isn't your strong point, can you show us the map you use.

What about the damage the Chinese inflict on Thailand by opening up fraudulent businesses, importing banned chemicals, importing substandard electrical products & beauty products; basically not being a friend of Thailand.

Thailand stands at a crossroads, where the intricate balance of refreshing its offerings and ensuring security can shape the future of its tourism industry.

And the conclusion is what?

infrastructure is ripe

Over ripe.   Infrastructure is antiquated based on 1980 standards.  Chinese, Japanese and Korean people expect infrastructure to be solid, safe, convenient and Thailand has none of this.

I've been noticing it for a while there is not many around, in the past around Rawai there is a big boat company there we used to see loads of Chinese being dropped off for the boat trips,

Then there is a hotel on the main road going to Central just after King power, closed down the place is only about 5 years old, they were catering for the Chinese tour groups, always loads of coaches on the car park, None it's empty,

The Chinese do not have a very good reputation for business ethics.  The goal of the CCP is making money at any cost.  Destruction of the environment, pollution, theft of intellectual property and the dumping of inferior goods is never a problem for the Chinese.

Much of China's infrastructure looks good on the outside, but not built to last.
