Is anyone there?

I don't believe in the supernatural but I've just had one on Facebook. A Friend Request from a friend who died three years ago. She was very nice but.......

I've had those too, invariably hacked dormant accounts.

Just block and the problem goes away.

I did try talking to Facebook about the somewhat unalive status of the member but they wanted all sorts of information that I couldn't provide so AFAIK the account is still there if it's not been disabled for breaking the rules.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Mate died 25. last month.

His FB is still "alive".

The widow probably has NO access and not try with FB to officially close it.

Remember the correct term, "Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me."

you can't communicate anymore on facebook if you're dead.

but presumably you have put photos on your profile and people may want to remember you by browsing at your photos.

Sadly when i look at my fb friends list more and more of them have passed on. It appears their accounts remain and the only activity is the occasional birthday wishes from friends who are unaware of their passing or those who believe Facebook is somehow transmitting messages to the afterlife !!

My son died 6 years ago. I have access to his account, but I will never close it, as it serves as a memorial

Only got 7 FB friends, and pretty sure they'll all know when I die.  OK, 6 if you don't count the dog.  4 if you scratch the wife & daughter.

Leaves brother & wife, another SIL, and ex wife #2.  All 4 in USA.

Social media ... :cheesy:

Not every thread is about the USA.

Please don't hijack with your political nonsense.

Guessing I missed a reply or 😎

Sure, likely much of it is hacked accounts / spam.  But perhaps not all of it.

Depends how deep your materialism and scientism conditioning goes.

Are you an open minded sceptic or close minded cynic?

Oh crap! Does that mean FB will be scraping data and selling advertisements to people even after they are dead?

A fate worse than death.

I haven't died yet and I posted yesterday....5 letters at the Post Office.

IMHO, FaceBook is mostly populated by the LIVING-DEAD, led by Zuckerberger.

FaceBook needs to be stamped out.

Or, it will just die of attrition.

Sooner is better.

These days, admitting to using FaceBook must be an embarrassment.

I have never used my own data to register an account of FB, and I do not recommend doing so.

Zuck might Suck you into his Metaverse, or worse.

Meta is Dead, also.

Meta is like a Supertanker.

Even though the engines are dead, the momentum of the derelict ship will continue moving until it finally stops, somewhere out at sea, and then sinks.

Zuck has tried to remake himself with a new DO.....

Still, no matter what Zuck does with his locks and beard, his eyes are still zombie-like.....

Even ConeHeads are far more alive.

Maybe the reason that FB does not delete dead people from its members is just because Fb is trying to inflate its dwindling following?
