Anyone on social media here in Thailand and getting paid? Is it just YouTube and TT for payments? Anyone doing any paywalled, premium stuff?

 

I'm curious whether a blog might be effective or is everything now on sm platforms video / podcast?

 

As content creator anyone posting anything of value they worry bots will hover up / AI crawlers?

Iam on social media and get paid... from my employer.

Nah ... just the wife doing spring cleaning of the storage area, and selling all the crap we haven't used in 6 months or more.  Years actually 🙄

 

Sold 6 laptops, netbooks, tablets, sound system, all kinds of junk.  Amazing what we carried around with us for a couple moves.

 

Keeps asking me 'should sell this' ... if I haven't touched it in 6 months, sell it.

 

Drones, and tools are off limits...anything else, I don't want see again.  I even gave a whole, rather expensive camera kit & 5 lens away to niece. 

 

Spare that I never used, since upgrading.  Really nice kit, but wouldn't get much if selling.  Rather her have, as having an interest in photography.  No way could she afford or her father by a nice kit for her.

 

I have a YT that has millions of views, but need 5k subscribers to be monetized, and think I'm only half way.   Have no desire to have a income channel, as sounds like work, and just stick stuff there for myself.

Ive been thinking of doing the Feeder thing.

It looks like a slog tbh. I'm thinking of it more as a hobby, but would like to get paid if possible.

 

I think TT is finished anyway. Certainly for US creators. Seems creators, good ones just wash thru.

I don't necessarily mind the not being paid but I'm not interested in enriching billionaire platforms either

I could possibly do podcasts. The ones about BKK I've listened a bit are dire and I've shut them down in minutes

BTS platform #2  if going south,  Subs...  usually just one ham & cheeze because cheaper,  It's Thai because Bangkok made.

YOu should explore UGC – especially if you are over 50

UGC is "User Generated Content" basically you make videos to promote stuff, you get to keep whatever it is the company gives you to test or promote, and if they use your video to promote their product you get paid for that too. Search UGC on tiktok.

Any idea how Thai brands and companies hook up with creators? From what I see on TT looks like they push brands they may may not like in hopes of getting picked up.

I guess I could ask on Reddit but that platform so woke and toxic

You only need 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours (in a 12 month period) to be monetized. 

If you are getting millions of views you should be earning significant money from your YT channel.
 

Plenty of youtubers over here Thailand making good money. The big money comes when you are promoting your business via the channel. It's a hard slog though, lots of daily content required.

I got a message from Tiktok that I am now eligible for 3 different monetization programs. I can for example partner with brands and get cash rewards, I think this is

to do promotional content like short advertisements. I can also join Tik Tok shop for creators and share products to receive a commission. I can also do promotional videos for artists to receive commissions. 

 

And yes, you need lots of subscribers for that.

A number of the people I subscribe to on YouTube complain about being stiffed by them. Being accused of views originating from robots and breaching rules on content in their videos spring to mind. Some wanted me to support them through the Patreon platform.

You don't need to be a subscriber to view a YT video.  Only a small subset of viewers might choose to subscribe.
