Hi my wife is going out to get a non B visa, she doesnt get back into Thailand until 6pm that day after collecting it. What is grace period before you have to report in as shes heard out immigration are fining people if they can't get back the same day.

Can you confirm theres an official grace period and what it is?

When I search the internet it keeps mentioning 90 days which isnt what I want? It also says landlords have 24 hrs to report a new resident but this also isnt what I want, Its someone returning who wants to go and confirm their address, Recently a colleague of mine for fined 800 baht for forgetting to go back but im not sure the grace period. If anyone has an official document  weblink I can give to someone if they disagree with the period of grace that would be great

thanks everyone

Which immigration office?

You are asking about TM30.

Generally as long as you do the TM30 prior to attending immigration for a reason such as certificate of residence etc you would not be fined.

The 90-day report of address is called TM47. What you are asking about is probably the TM30. If you search for these specific "forms", you'll find relevant information. I find this website useful https://tm30.io/tm30_vs_tm47 . One's host (hotel, landlord, etc.) is supposed to do the TM30 within 24 hours after their guests (tenant, etc.) have arrived at their place of residence. As DrJack54 said, it's not that strictly enforced.
