I would go if they had a poker table (I mean real poker, not poker where you play against the bank), and it had a low rake.

There is a lack of poker in southeast Asia. The nearest reputable poker establishment is Nagaworld. There are also some dodgy places but I don't want to go near them.

There are a lot of fishy players (think of all the ASEANnow posters) in Asia making it an ideal place to enjoy myself.

I wish the Thai government could be convinced that poker is really a game of skill and they would no longer banish it as a form of gambling.

I know at least one AN poster who isn't fishy..... LOL

I know at least one other player in Thailand, can we find enough for a Sit and Go?

I've got plenty for you too...

Whats your point? I don't know a single person who likes you or any of your posts.

The Don.

You could have all your freinds fit in a phone booth and there still be room for more.

Count me out. Under Thai law, playing poker even for fake tokens is strictly prohibited. (I've read the relevant gambling legislation)

My post was about playing in a casino not a home game, I personally don't think they'll have any Tournament or Cash Came Poker, it will be the 3 card table poker, where they have the edge.

It will never happen in most of our lifetimes but if it does, Thailand already has the perfect location on the strip of land south of Jomtien down by the Ambassador and beyond. It is easily as large as the Cotai Strip in Macau, well located for Utapao Airport and a high speed rail link from Bangkok would transform the whole area from Pattaya to Sattahip.

Possibly but really only so my Thai Wife and Stepdaughter could have the experience. Yep, taking a chance on creating a monster limited up to now to losing on the lottery.

I once went to Vegas with 10,000 quid ,I  intended to either win a lot

or blow it all ,since I knew nothing about gambling it would be the later,

When I got there I just could not do it,common sense kicked in , but I

did blow about 200 quid on the slot machines ,that was my only venture

into gambling.

I did have an uncle who was a terrible gambler , this one Saturday he

was watching racing on the Tv, he gave me 40 quid ,quite a bit of money

60 years ago , take it to the betting shop and put it on this horse , OK I

did that ,it lost ,  after a couple of more times , I thought i'll just put a

tenner on the horse,it lost ,this time I had 40 quid because he had gave

me 50 , I did this 3 more times I think ,not once did he ask for the betting

slip , so that is the only time in my life I have gambled and won , it was

easy come easy go for him , I did not have any regrets about it,if I did

not take it the bookie would have gotten it,

No I wont be going to the Thai Casino ,

I have visited Las Vegas and Macau. Only went there for the inexpensive food and drink in Las Vegas while She Who Must Be Obeyed spent a bit on the slot machines in Macau. I dislike gambling because losing money isn't fun for me.

For me the answer would be a resounding yes.

However, for my $500 in my white envelope (currently 17,000 THB) - I would definitely expect free drinks all night whilst I'm playing, just as they do in Vegas.

If they can't satisfy that basic requirement then I don't think I would bother....

The Don.

No one cares what you would do, Bob. You know you shouldn’t even be allowed outside. Next up, Bob’s new alias goes to the casino and pisses everyone off until they drop a slot machine on his foot.

Gambling and booze are not a good combination .

I would go to a Thai casino . I also pop over to Cambodian casinos occasionally . I generally stick to the slots because I do not understand most of the Khmer tables . MIL won 4.5 million baht on the slots about 15 years ago . I reckon she must have given it all back by now .She goes there at least 4 times a week .

I would like to know if there will be any regulation on slots payouts in the new Thai casinos . Or throughout Asia nut I doubt if there is any regulators / inspectors .

Unless it is owned by Trump!

It is unlikely that his gambling offerings were too generous.  His failure was probably due to faulty marketing, out of line expenses or most likely fraud on his part.

If Trump was the owner it would go ass up in no time. He's like Errol Flynn, everything he touches he f***s.

Oh really?

If Thailand takes that view then good luck - they (The Casino's) won't last two minutes..

100% yes.

prefer to stay local than to drive over to Nagaworld.

Nagaworld is full of cigarette smoke. Absolutely disgusting place.

Let's hope Thailand casinos will have smoke-free zones.

No way. Why would you put your money into something is is 100% you will lose? Maybe a fool would but any reasonable person wouldn't.

Not 100% you will lose. Google will help educate you with the actual loosing % on each game.

You must be one of the ones who also visited Macao, not for the culture, but just for the gambling.

I have seen plenty of guys like you in Macau.

And, it was guys like you that destroyed that place.

Anyone worth anything has already left Macau due to the casinos there.

Have you any idea just how much devastation a casino can cause to a culture?

Or.....probably.....

You just do not care.

,  If that is your current "liquidity" (no doubt pending your next pension cheque) then somehow I doubt you satisfy the basic requirement of any casino operator!
