Trump might deliberately be affecting the downward spiral of the stock market .... BUT 1) it's only temporary and 2) the reason is mostly to force the Federal Reserve to bring the interest rates down and ultimately Trump is trying to stimulate the economy in the long-term because when interest rates are too high, businesses borrow less money and people spend less. 

 

He also says if Trump pulls it off, "it could go down as one of the smartest economic power moves in history".
