Hi all, I'm sorry I know this has probably been asked a million times but I scrolled through and haven't found info. Simple question is what documents do I need to bring to my local immigration to extend a 60 day exempt for 30 days? And how soon before stamp expiry date can I go into immigration.

Which immigration office? 

How early depends on immigration office.

Generally 1-2 weeks prior to expiry.

For Chiangmai:

1.  Completed TM 7 form (with photo- 4 x 6cm).  And neatly write your phone number below your signature on 2nd page.

2. Photocopy of passport pages: entire photo-page including the code numbers and page showing entry stamp. Sign your full name in blue ink on both photocopies.

For "reasons for extension", just write "extending vacation" or something like that.

3. 1,900 baht.

4. Typically want a photocopy of TM30 too (has been required last couple of years).

Good information

If you intend using Jomtien,  easier to do a Visa run. Because they are giving everyone the run around, trying to push everyone into the hands of that horrible little ****** outside saying they can fast track you through for 4000 baht. Nasty people.

You are referring to a border bounce for new visa exempt entry.

OP, has not indicated which immigration office he is dealing with.

Obtaining a 30 day extension is best option if that covers time span for holiday plans.

That thread is over a year old and not relevant to how it is now. I am not sure what you have against Jomtien, it's always negative. Considering the volume of people they process they do very well. It's not a sleepy office like many in the provinces.

First cab of the rank is that were requiring 2 months seasoning for Non O retirement application from visa exempt entry.

That is just a made up nonsense.

@CMBobalready gave the correct answer. My issue was not related to the question it was related to the way "in my opinion", you always say that Jomtien is a rogue office when it is not. My first hand experience of Jomtien is that it's a well organised office now since the building was changed and considering the volume of people they deal with, they do an excellent job.

Clearly your first hand experience is not regarding visa exempt to Non O.

It really depends on what you want to get at Jomtien.  For retirement, it is one of the easiest places to get it done.  For a tourist-extension, also no problem, if you have a TM-30. 

 

But, for a 90-Day Non-O visa (from exempt or tourist status), or for Marriage-based extensions, they are absolutely horrendous.  Not because of the organization of the office-space (recently improved) or seating, etc - but because of the nature of the people who handle those "desks" at Jomtien. 

 

I look forward to hearing the heads of those have been replaced, some day.

Thanks. I have never dealt with those desks. The Retirement, 90 day report and Residence Certificate deeks from my experience run smoothly. It's also a nice air conditioned environment now with food and drink options just outside. I can understand though that some people can have a bad experience here and that leads to the "rogue office" tag from someone who don't even know the facts.

Rather contradictory. So your knowledge is very limited re Jomtien.

So you have never obtained a 30 day extension or for example applied for Non O from visa exempt entry.....

So many reports on AseanNow regarding Jomtien having their own agenda. Could list many. 

 

Another example current thread chap asking about the "return to immigration office to show bankbook after 3 months" 

Guess which office asks for this nonsense. 

Name other offices that play that bogus card.
