That's what many Canadians has done, I've never seen so many of them before as I've done this year.

Hunting, fishing, skiing, going to restaurants, nature walks, enjoying sports, music and movies. Pretty much the same things you could enjoy anywhere. It isn't frozen there 12 months a year. Canada has some of the most beautiful unspoiled landscape on earth. If it wasn't cold so long, I would enjoy living there, but visiting I'd love to do every year if I could.

This seems to be the new look for AseanNow.  You can go back in archive.org and view the original site where you could easily scroll though the various topics and happening all throughout  Thailand with the topics all easily viewable on one page.

Now?

Now we have AseanNarcissistsNow where a handful of members clamor to be ShadowRanked and their inane posts promoted as being something important when it's basically collective sappy tosh.  And then follows a bunch of "new members" whose posts sound just like old members who are collectively screaming:

Look at me Look at me Look at me Look at me Look at me ala bob smith
👆THIS pretty much sums it up 👆

ThaiVisa/AseanNow has seen much, much better days. What I'd actually like to see promoted is that same, easy-to-view format we had 10 years ago instead of the new narcissist-centric format of today.

The ghosts of Thailand past who cannot extricate themselves from Thailand haunt this forum.

I feel your pain.

Still here, and slowing, weening myself off.  Put so many on my ignore list, it's a lot easier now.  Not tempted to post, since not triggered by their drivel

Still a couple topics that interest me.  Try to stick to them, try that is :coffee1:

Me too, but sadly it takes longer and longer to filter through the junk to get to the good stuff.   I quit participating when I became a Covid refugee living in the USA, and came back now that I'm visiting Thailand monthly.

My 2 pet peeves:

-There doesn't seem to be anyone deleting curating wrong information like they used to.  Even totally wrong posts about simple visa issues are argued back and forth ad nauseum.  Which makes the input harder and harder to trust.

-We always hear about cool Thailand events after they happen, rarely in time to attend.

I don't get that the criticism is aimed at the site as much as some of the posters.

I went to Ontario many years ago - you could only buy alcohol in government shops - is that still the case?

I don’t think you did a good job of targeting that.  I might’ve missed it, with the thread title, and not realised you were having a go.

I’ll tell the grocer that, when I’m in buying beer.  What he doesn’t sell is shampoo.  So I’ll have to start washing my hair with beer .

I really regret being back here. The miserable weather is making my body ache everywhere. The price of food is outrageous and i am literally watching every dolla

There is a park near my downtown lakefront condo and smoking crack has been normalized. They shoot and smoke literally next to the kindergarden and children's playground.

The libtard government even put this next to kids playground, so I let my wife model a bit

And you're surprised ...

... why did you leave again ? :coffee1:

As much as I do love the USA, no way could I return, for anything more than a year of cruising the National Parks, then I'd have to leave.  No way could I actually stay longer than a holiday.
