Well, it should be a breeze to get the UAE to cease its support for the murderous RSF. After all, it is a charter member of the Board of Peace.

Stop supplying the toys to kill each other.  But where's the profit in that :coffee1:

5 permanent members of the "UN inSecurity Council" are some of the top weapon exporters.

Making the world a better, safer place :cheesy:

But they, the UN is always here to help ...

How would you solve the Sudanese war ?

Would be the best solution for peace in Sudan ?

The Sudanese War is a civil war, this article makes observation on how civil wars end and draws lessons that are equally applicable to the Civil War in Sudan:

“Civil wars don’t end quickly. The average length of civil wars since 1945 has been about 10 years.”

”The greater the number of factions, the longer the civil war lasts.” The Civil War in Sudan has multiple factions.

“Most Civil Wars end in decisive military victories, not negotiated settlements.”

Addressing your first question, there is very likely no other solution than a decisive victory and the Sudanese Civil War is very likely going to continue until such a victory occurs, any negotiated settlement is unlikely to end the war.

Addressing your second question, peace will come when the war ends. It is unlike to be anytime soon.

I favour a two state solution , do you think that would work ?

As said above, stop supplying weapons.

The ghostly laughter that can be heard as Sudanese destroy each other and the country is Gordon, from his grave.

It's a war over money. The RSF controlled resources, the army wanted them, bingo, war ensues.

No I don’t.

Its a Civil War not a two state war.

Perhaps you had some other war in mind.

I think both sides should have their own independent Country

Could have South Sudan, North Sudan and North West Sudan , although that may confuse Kanye a bit .

I’m sure you think a lot of things.

Refer above linked article on how Civil Wars end.

The army commander went to war to get the resources the RSF control. Why would he agree to divide the country and let them keep those resources?

BTW are you not aware that a South Sudan already exists, currently gearing up for their own civil war?

@unblocktheplanet What is your solution to the problem ?

I saw in another thread that you would like to air your opinion

Since 2023

  • Highly uncertain,[34] could be more than 150,000 total killed[35][36][37]

  • Nearly 25 million affected by famine; 4 million children acutely malnourished[38]

  • 8,856,313 internally displaced

  • 3,506,383 refugees[39]

Thank you for introducing this topic. If my news reading is correct, not much has changed on Sudan's killing fields.

The Sudan war started about the same time as the Gaza war started and 3 times as many people have been killed in Sudan .

How come youve never herd of the Sudan war ?

Well, if your remark is intended as a generality and not just directed at unblocktheplanet specifically it could be because people are more concerned with issues that concern their own countries. So, if the United States starts backing one side in Sudan to the tune of billions of dollars per year and affording it a special considerations in other ways, then it can be expected that in the situation will perk up.

So now, overnight, we are all bar stool experts on Sudan? There are no problems we cannot fix after several Leos.

Obtain a magic lantern. Give it a good rub. When the Genie pops out, make these three wishes:
Make the CIA disappear.
Make MI6 disappear.
Make Peace On Earth.

I'd be careful with the last one. The cheeky Genie would probably do something like this.

"Make mankind disappear and viola - Peace On Earth. Sure - why not!" BOOM Genie.gif

Please tell me why you on the left are always wishing for the worst? Is it because of a mental disorder?

How could you not know about it, or all the other conflicts worldwide. Never mind, easy answer, not on the MSM spin cycle ... must include Trump, RU & CN

Africans been slaughtering each other for decades, and one of the best NGO corruption machines out there, and probably the real reason you haven't seen it in the MSM. Hate the end that gravy train to defense contractor, big pharma, and fake charities. IMHO

Ignorance is Bliss & profitable

Why didn't I get the memo that connda has been appointed spokesman for the left?

I thought he was the spokesman for Russia. Is this a promotion?

I see you have no answer for the fact that most people unfortunately will not be interested in matters that their countries aren't directly involved in. Maybe if the current US administration starts contributing to some depraved faction there, as that "magnificent man" President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan if the UAE has been doing, you'll see an uptick in protests.

The have been many marches and demonstrations throughout the World calling for a Palestine state and opposition to Israel.

I have yet to see one demonstration calling for the USA to stop giving military aid to Israel .

Do you agree with Isreals right to exist in the whole of the land , but you just oppose the USA giving aid to Israel .

USA military budget per year is 900 Billion $

USA military aid to Isreal is 5 Billion $
