Dear Folks,

 

Is it just me, or is this site beginning to slow down, overburdened by the increase in posters and readers of this great TV?

 

I might be willing to pay a paltry sum, on a monthly basis, if this might help.

 

How might this be negotiated.

 

For example, I could pay a bit, but not too much.

 

I enjoy a much more responsive site, when I post, which is rarely.

 

How much must we pay to the company which serves TV, just to get better response time when adding important Topics and Comments to this forum?

 

Or, is the real problem MY Internet, or MY computers, which are causing this lag time?

 

Anybody know?

What is TV?

You must be having a problem with the device you are using,

as the Aseannow website is working very quickly for me,and

I would not be willing to pay anything to improve it ,as it works

perfectly for me .

From my experience, the site will lag, significantly, and periodically, when posting a comment.

Several minutes ago, for example, after pressing submit, the server required several seconds to update.

This has been happening more frequently.

Is this a server problem?

If so, then why?

If I am experiencing this, then others might be, as well.

Couple of seconds delay, worries me not.

I don't get enough LIKES, IMHO.

But, is there any FORUM RULE which states we cannot BUY LIKES...

Like buying votes is legal in many places...?

I know little about how this Internet thing works, and from what I know I believe that the speed at which a web page loads depends mostly on these two factors:

1. The speed with which my Internet service provider (ISP) sends the bytes — or, more precisely, the bits — to my device (mobile phone or computer)
2. The speed with which the server that hosts the website gives my ISP access to the server and sends the bits to my ISP

When an extraordinary event occurs, for an example an earthquake, the Internet traffic increases suddenly and sharply, which tends to slow down the data transmission to my device

 

Another example is when millions of AseanNow users have configured their profile to get a notification from AseanNow when a particular member, for example GammaGlobulin, makes a new post and then almost simultaneously click on the link to read that post.

 

A slowdown of the Internet speed can also occur when schools close for the day and all students nationwide almost simultaneously get online with their phones to view the latest on their social media sites.

 

In other words, it is very much like traffic jams on the roads.

It's more like...too many people listening to TRAFFIC on TV...which slows things down....

Why not make a donation and open a new thread mentioning your donation amount? Others might follow you, and your LIKES might escalate.

Do a "traceroute aseannow.com".  Issue that command in a terminal session.

Speed of TV (aseannow) varies for me, depending on which country my vpn is set for. 

Or how many browser windows I have, with however many tabs I have open in the windows.

I think the problem is due to the server, and slowness of maybe only having one slow drive to read and write data.

Maybe...buy new server.

Best to inform webserver company, maybe.

The problem happens periodically, and intermittently.

It seems not related to any type of internet problem.

Feels like slow read and write times.

But....Am I an Expert?

 

I vote for more pop-ups and banner advertisements 😊 

I would not ever donate even a red cent to anyone or anything that chooses to disrespect my opinion. It's tolerated simply because it is free.
