Exiting Thailand confusion

Featured Replies

Hi……I recently just returned to the UK for a few months and was suprised on leaving Thailand through immigration that it was all electronic no actual immigration officer or any physical stamp in my passport. It left me a little confused and thinking when i return later in the year will it be recorded when i left thailand….and will my retirement visa and re-entry visa be ok as normal….Another thing ive just learned about is the new electronic landing/entry card….not sure of the proper term for it, but can any member provide me with info about it or if there have been previous posts about it please point me in the right direction…..many thanks in advance for your advice and information…..

You departed using the automatic gates, which electronically registered your departure in their database.
No issues on reentry using your re-entry permit.

New electronic TDAC system, replaces the old TM6 card from 1st May.
Plenty of info in this topic. https://aseannow.com/topic/1356064-thailand-digital-arrival-card-tdac-system-is-online-but-not-announced-as-starting-yet/

So if one leaves via these gates with no stamp and comes back after 2 months they will not claim any overstay or other absurdity ?

You can see an imm officer if that's your preference, right?

My experience is you can if the automatic system will not approve you.

Not sure if anyone can just walk up to an Imm officer.

Whenever I've exited, you could. Someone would direct people to the auto gates, but if you just walked past to the manned booths, nobody has taken any action to force you to use the auto gates.
