Trump ‘IS Going to Run’ for Third Term, Bannon to Maher: ‘He’s Gonna Be President’ in 2029

Albert Einstein: “The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.”

Maher then told Bannon that he "brought a copy" of the Constitution to the show, and proceeded to read the 22nd Amendment aloud.

"Amendment 22. No person shall be elected to the office of the president more than twice," Maher read, adding, "And yet you keep talking about Trump's — maybe you should have this," before handing the copy of the Constitution to Bannon.

The former Trump advisor clarified that "President Trump didn't bring up running for a third term," and that it was himself and others who were the ones who brought up the idea.

"President Trump is going to run for a third term, and President Trump is going to be elected again on the afternoon of January 20th of 2029. He's going to be President of the United States," Bannon asserted.

"OK, but the thing I just read in there," Maher replied, pointing at the Constitution. "It seemed like there was no wiggle room there, it seemed like it was just, you know, eight or ten words that said only two times."

Bannon told Maher that "we have a team of people" who are working on reviewing the amendment.

"How can a team do something about that? I don't care if the team is twelve trillion people, the words are still the words," Maher asked.

Bannon noted that there are currently "120 lawsuits on what President Trump is doing for his Article II rights," and that those who are suing Trump right now are doing so based off of their own interpretation of the Constitution.

While holding up a copy of the Constitution, Bannon said, "The interpretation of this [the U.S. Constitution] is open for interpretation."

"How could it be open — could I have it back?" Maher responded, reaching over to take back the copy of the Constitution he gave Bannon.

The late-night host, laughing along with the audience, then went through every word of the 22nd Amendment with Bannon.

"I don't see what the ‘team’ is finding," Maher told Bannon, adding that the two will just have to "disagree" on the topic.

you should present the 2 sides of the story if you are going to try to flame people

First his team has to find a way of moving the elections to January.

Or is he thinking of running for president of Greenland State?

Won't ever happen.

Trump won't even make it through this current term.

He's just playing to divert people, cause more chaos and outrage, and try to diffuse the reality that right now he is a LAME DUCK president.

Ok now I'm confused. For a very long time you have said trump is a fascist dictator who will reign fury and fascist things down on America for a thousand years.

Now he won't even make it through the term.

This post is clearly only about one thing, a discussion between Bill Maher and Steve Bannon, it has absolutely nothing to do with Maher’s personal feelings toward Trump. It’s about Bannon’s brazen attempt to float the idea of Trump injecting himself into a third term.

How do you manage to so completely miss the point of the entire topic? Either you didn’t read it, didn’t understand it, or you’re intentionally playing dumb. Whichever it is, all you’ve accomplished here is broadcasting your own foolish ignorance to everyone reading.

Next thread will be how trump turned in his sleep last night which means fascism is on the way.

Those are Bannon's words. Presumably he meant inaugurated.

It's just words.

Same as the constitution.

Just words.

He has a team working on the problem.

But then "problem" is just a word.

According to Bill Maher, Trump was gracious and quite pleasant at the dinner he hosed in the White House. He even showed a sense of humor. Actually, I don't find this difficult to believe.

Trump is a very intelligent and talented man, otherwise he would not have managed to attract the following he has or get elected POTUS. It isn't his raw intelligence or his charisma that I doubt, it is his morals and character and, of course, his agenda and how he chooses to carry it out. He isn't dumb, but he knows that a large section of the public is, and he uses this to his advantage. Case in point being the calculation of tariff rates he claims are imposed by other countries on US-made goods. I'm sure he knew it was nonsense, but also that it would play in Peoria.

This brings me to the conclusion that either he was putting on an act at the dinner with Maher, or he's putting on an act when he's otherwise in public spewing hate and lies. It may well be both. Sociopaths can  be charming, intelligent and witty, with a sense of humor and yet be completely manipulative and amoral. Some credible people who have worked closely with him have stated that he's not fit to be POTUS.

I wonder whether his ego would allow him to resign later in his term so as to give Vance the advantage of incumbency for 2028 with Trump running as VP. Vance would then resign in early 2029, making way for Trump to become an unelected president. I see an end-run like this as being more plausible than a frontal assault on the Twenty-Second Amendment.

Total "BS!" President Trump is just thoroughly aggravating the Lib's!!

He gets more popular with the Americans every election.

A sexual pest that used to be found in underaged girls change rooms. He did not try to hide it, he bragged about it.
He denied having sex with Stormy, but didn’t deny paying her for it.

He got sued for raping the other woman.
And he grabs them by the pussy, they all let him because he is famous.
P Diddy will be his running mate in the next election after Trump pardons him.

Ron Jeremy will be heading DOGE.

Weinstein will be Attorney General.

And together they are going to make America great again.

I'm not an American, but he is like a breath of fresh air. He shoots from the hip. The UK could do with a leader like him. And France. Is there a De Gaulle in the wings?

America needs him for another 8 years. It will take that long to undo all the woke rubbish. Then his son can take over as boss of the MAGA party.

Here's the dealio.

It's the economy, stupid, and Trump is as stupid as stupid gets on the economy.

There is ZERO chance his tariff madness will have a positive outcome.

The only question now is the level of bad.

A recession is almost definite. A recession which has his filthy liddle paws all over it and yes the people get that.

Inflation -- definite. Slow growth -- definite.

Bingo -- that's STAGFLATION.

If you don't know how bad that is google the history of JAPAN.

A Trump induced GREAT DEPRESSION -- without a doubt possible.

If you don't know why (tariffs) look up the history of the last one.

So I'm seeing that he resigns for "health reasons" when he can't go out in public anymore anywhere without being BOOED. It will stop being fun for him.

He was voted in to do just that.

All Trump needs to do is to get Vance to run for President next time with Trump as Vice pres. On day one Vance resigns and Trump takes over for a third term as he was not "elected"  for the third term!

It is not fantasy as it has been discussed by a number of presidents since the 22nd amendment

You are way off base and need to work on comprehension. The OP is about trump running for president for a 3rd time and what the constition says about it, not about dinner or opening remarks. Your comments are typical of cultists that like to try to deflect and twist issues into something different so they can cry and whine and cry foul just like a 4 year throwing a tantrum

Thankfully, Vance seems virtually unelectable.

A good reason why no charisma Vance won't win.
