(I'm not aware of even ONE good thing about them except if you're Putin and Xi and happy to see the USA actively accelerate it's own decline.)

It seems to me that the biggest mistake in regard to his tariffs is the presumption that he can simply restore the "golden industrial era of America" which he seems to be pining for. Granted America has lost millions of jobs but it happened for a dozen good reasons and tariffs are not going to change that. It's too costly to manufacture electronics and even clothing in America these days, and only between 4 and 8% of the US economy is based on manufacturing anyway. At least manufacturing done in America, as opposed to manufacturing by American companies, done overseas.
