Featured Replies

Hi All .  I would like to know if any of you guys have used the Temu online shopping app?   if so what was your experience (good/bad or indifferent)  of their  service .  speed of delivery  after service etc ....I usually use Lazada/Shopee  .. but it's always handy to have another choice as a back up 😉

Cheer in advance 🙂

Excellent service, can track orders, COD can't fault it.

Ask on Chat GPT or similar. Says 'up to 90% discount'.....discount off what? Or will the prices now be going up by 104% Mr Trump?

Dodgy quality, long delivery. Stick with Shopee or Laz.

As you can with the other two in Thailand.

My Mrs uses it and has had mostly very good delivery times. As for quality, many of the items are produced in China and many are the same on Lazada that are on Temu. So you take your chances really. Free shipping is often available as well.

Not used yet but Aliexpress is slower than Lazada and tracking not as good.

Can you get delivery discounts on temu easy?

Many items have free shipping but it sounds like there can often be a minimum spend to qualify.

Ah yes, as shady as they come.

I've just consulted with my global shopping guru again and she says, that is often the case but the prices for bigger sizes of clothes, shoes etc. don't seem to be unreasonable.

Exactly, I use all 3, depending on the price, never had a problem with Temu and I order alot of motorbike gear from them, delivery time no difference from Lazarda or Shoppe, ordered motorbike boots delivered in 6 days, excellent quality as well.

Shipping cannot be free. Who pays for it?

It comes out of your minimum spend.

I've used Temu a number of times.   As others have mentioned, you can track your order.  I just ordered several items and I received emails as to the progress of my order.  The items were supposed to arrive on the 21st but I got them yesterday.

You do need to be aware of sizes and dimensions when you order.  That would be my biggest caution.  I find that to be also true for Lazada and Shopee.    For example, I've been shopping for a shoe rack bench and some of the photos will show a bench holding 8 or 10 pairs of shoes on 2 racks.  When you look at the dimensions, the item is just 60 cm wide--no way could you get 8 or 10 pairs of regular size shoes side by side on 2 shelves just 60 cm wide.  Also, some items require assembly.

I wouldn't use any of the online services--Temu, Lazada, Shopee--for some things but I've been happy with what I have ordered using them.  I use all three and order from the one that comes closest to what I am looking for--at the price I have in mind.   With Temu, I have ordered such things as decorative pillow covers, woven baskets, storge containers, art prints, picture frames, decorative picture hangers, etc.

I think all three are great for finding things that might not be readily available locally.  I mentioned ordering baskets--there was a huge variety to choose from and I was able to find the exact size to fit a shelf space in a new house I am furnishing.   Ditto for art prints--a huge variety in all sizes and subjects.  I can spend hours looking through them searching for just the right ones.   In our current house, we ordered some of the ceiling pendant lights and floor lamps on-line--again, there was a huge variety and far more to choose from than what was available locally.

I mainly use Lazada and Shoppee, and I've never had any trouble with either. I've even returned some items for a full refund.

All I ever see of Temu is ads featuring half-naked women in underclothing.

Free shipping: you have to spend only 180 baht.

Prices: very cheap, often cheaper than Lazada or Shopee.

Quality: cheap goods from China are ... cheap goods.

Sizes: you must be extra careful when ordering.

Delivery times: reasonable, but often longer than advertised.

I have been using Temu quite a bit recently, though not on the app, on my desktop, but they have put a stop to that now, they would not let me make payment until I could do some sort of quiz that I cannot complete.

i am finished with them now and still waiting for Items ordered about a month ago. Another thing, don't buy anything from them with a zip on it, the quality is awful.

Same Lazada and Shopee😉 For size-dependent items you pay according to size....its usual even in western Countries!

No, not in the UK, clothes and shoes the same price irrespective of size, online just tries to sucker you in

the tariff is on the price on the manufactured item not the actual final retail price, ie, if the manufacturer sells it to the distributor for $10 then that is the price the tariff is based on, for china with a 125% tariff it will cost an extra $2.50, the tariff isnt added to the final price in retail like many are trying to push so the tariff will not add heaps to the price paid by the consumer

I have bought several items mainly for the garden and they have been very good, bought a bath robe as I couldnt find one locally that would fif, it is fine and at the price a real bargain. Some items my wife got were not great but at the price we couldnt whinge, over all with the free delivery(usually 3 to 4 weeks) and low cost plus the amount of products available it is equal or even  better than shopee & lazada for most of what we get

...it takes even longer to go through them all to see which is suitable and gets the most stars.............

Will the 125% tariff not be added to the cost price ie $10 plus $12.50 = $22.50?

Is that you Donald? your maths is off, try again

no, the price would be $12.50 total, the tariff is only $2.50

$100 plus 10% = $110, yes? So $100 plus 125% = $225.

Maybe you can show the calculations on a $10 item 125% is $2.50?

my mistake, I kept writing 125% instead of the 25% I meant for some reason, big brain fade, remove the 1 from the percentage and you get the right numbers

  • 4 weeks later...

I Just started using Temu, I ordered some garden stuff, clear orchid pots that they don’t sell on Lazada. They arrived quickly, even tho there was a National holiday in China. The problem is with j&T couriers, maybe they will learn the house numbers eventually. I am getting slightly frustrated in the shipping costs of Lazada, I don’t really use shopee.

A lot of things sold on Lazada either originate or are sent from China, it seems a bit skewed to spend less than 150B on a product and pay 48B or more on shipping. I understand that’s what it costs, but shipping costs soon add up. I try to select the same suppliers, sometimes it’s impossible. Lazada needs to offer some kind of consolidated shipping like Aliexpress choice. But for the moment is good.
