A video clip, widely shared on Thai social media via the page “อยากดังเดี๋ยวจัดให้ รีเทิร์น part 6” (translated: “If You Want to Be Famous, I’ll Make You Famous – Return Part 6”), shows a man and woman attempting to cross a railway track on a motorcycle as the barrier was coming down to stop traffic for an approaching train. While the man managed to duck under, the barrier struck the woman riding behind him, knocking her off the vehicle. She sustained facial injuries and was seen staggering away from the railway line. The man stopped and ran back to assist her. The clip was captioned sarcastically: “If you’re in such a hurry, why didn’t you leave yesterday? Was it worth it?” The incident occurred near the level crossing adjacent to Wat Nang Nong on Wutthakat Road in Bang Kho district, Bangkok. The crossing, located on a bend, is controlled by railway staff and fitted with dual boom barriers. Locals report the barriers were only recently installed, replacing a previous wire-rope system. Reporters visited the scene and spoke with “Pa Kai”, a 72-year-old curry vendor whose stall is located near the crossing. Although she did not witness the actual moment of impact, she saw the aftermath as the injured woman tried to stand up before being helped to the roadside by her presumed partner. Emergency services later transported the victim to hospital. Pa Kai said this was not the first such incident. She admitted that many motorcyclists frequently ignore the barriers to avoid waiting for trains to pass, even though the wait time is usually only a few minutes. She recalled previous incidents where riders were injured after being struck by the barrier. “As a member of the community, I just want to urge people to stay calm and wait. It’s not worth risking your life or damaging property,” she said. Officials from the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) have confirmed that crossing the barriers while they are in operation is a criminal offence. If a vehicle damages the railway’s property, such as hitting the barrier, the offender may face legal action. SRT officials are required to report such incidents to the police, and the Department of Land Transport may record the offence, potentially preventing the driver from renewing their licence. The incident has sparked renewed calls for stricter enforcement and greater public awareness to prevent further injuries, or worse, at railway crossings across the country. Popular Post webfact Posted April 24 Popular Post Posted April 24 UPDATE: Biker Blunder: Reckless Ride Knocks Wife to Ground at Rail Barrier Photo via Facebook/ Peet Love A Bangkok biker brazenly defied a railway barrier, resulting in a shocking accident that floored his wife. The incident, caught on camera and shared by Facebook user Peet Love on April 22, showed the motorcyclist failing to heed a descending railway barrier. While he ducked to avoid the barrier, his unsuspecting wife was struck and left lying on the track. The shocking footage depicts another motorcyclist sensibly waiting for an approaching train, while the reckless rider surged forward. The moment the barrier collided with his wife's head, she tumbled awkwardly, visibly dazed as she regained her footing. Rather than assist her immediately, her husband concentrated on gathering their dropped belongings from the road. Remarkably, a potential tragedy was averted as the train had yet to arrive when she fell. Speaking to the news programme Hone Krasae, the injured woman recounted her attempt to continue commuting to work post-accident. However, the seriousness of her injuries became apparent. She later sought medical help where nine stitches were administered to her chin wound, along with a diagnosis of internal bleeding, encouraging an overnight hospital stay. Reflecting on the ordeal, she resolved to abandon motorcycle commutes with her husband, opting for the safety of public transport instead. The incident may have serious legal repercussions for the husband. According to Channel 7, his reckless behaviour could invoke legal penalties under Section 62 of the Land Transport Act. This law enforces a maximum 10-year prison term or a fine up to 20,000 baht (around 20,000 THB), or both, for such infractions. Moreover, the couple could face additional financial liability for any damage inflicted on public property like the railway barrier during this hazardous escapade. The severity of the husband's actions underscores the critical importance of respecting traffic signals, notably in environments as perilous as railway crossings, to maintain public safety and avert such life-threatening incidents. Popular Post spidermike007 Posted April 25 Popular Post Posted April 25 It takes certain qualities to survive on the roads here. Patience, being very conscious of your surroundings, driving defensively, avoiding excessive speed, especially in town, following basic traffic rules and laws and avoiding being overly stupid, at all times. The theory of natural selection, means we all have to exhibit certain survival skills, to thrive in this world. Self protection is just one of those skills. Some have it, some do not. 3

black tabby12345 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Lucky that they both survived. Falling to the ground in that posture can be quite fatal.
