For as long as I can remember, after 9/11, LGA containers have always been limited to under 100ml. Whats the issue? Just stick to the regs and cruise on through.

The restriction was introduced following discovery of a terror plot in 2006.  9/11 was 2001.

At London Heathrow Terminal 2 you now leave everything in your carry on bag. Liquids, electronics, everything. They scan the bag/case just as it is.

They have the latest generation of Smiths detection machines.

Even Bristol airport 2 weeks ago. Much faster.

100ml has been standard for 20 years :coffee1:

And on any flight into Oz from Bangkok there is an additional security check at the entrance to the gate. I have seen people lose bottles of booze that they have purchased at duty free on numerous occasions.

It has nothing to do with the normal security scans that everyone must go through before passport control.

Every bag/ backpack etc is inspected by hand.

Duty free booze can be purchased, but must be in a sealed bag and delivered to the gate after the bag search. Unfortunately not every knows this and can lose a couple of hundred bucks of fine booze.

BKK was recently upgraded by the US  and will “pave the way for direct flights from the US”….would that have any bearing on it ?

Probably

Thailand has revamped its airport security, applying stricter rules for carrying liquids, gels, and aerosols

On the way to Roi Et, Don Mueang confiscated my toothpaste recently.

I am so sick of airport security and will only fly if absolutely necessary.  Why don't they ban the 1 group that is responsible for all

airport security, from flying instead of a nightmare for everyone else?  The cost involved in this is staggering.

Same. Find flying nowadays a real chore and angsty, and will only do so if necessary. All this was a requirement years ago, but they want to push it through even tighter. Why doesn’t the world go back to just being, normal? Such a drag.

Indeed, the TSA in the US have never actually caught a terrorist!

Yeah and they obvioulsly let the Russian woman enter the plane without even having a ticket!  Thought it was really funny when she refused to fly back to the US to face charges.

I can remember a time when planes were being blown out of the sky...

How many were blown out of the sky by passengers with explosive soft drinks in their hand luggage or bombs in their shoes? Completely pointless make work, which directly benefits extortionate airport shops.

Now I've learned to carry an empty flask and a few packs or 3 in 1 coffee, find the hot water dispenser in the waiting room, make myself a flask of coffee, and then carry it on the plane with me and drink it during the flight.

Who does this benefit? the US did this under the pretense of terrorism but what reason does Thailand have? It seems to be coming out of nowhere.

Thai's love authority, it's in their gene's along with wearing uniforms, and not to forget NOISE.

I can remember a time when nobody checked anything, and we could smoke on the flight.

Are you saying that smoking should be allowed on planes???????? Or any other transport?????

Of course not! I only dig into my vast memory.
I also remember in the 70s and 80s when Pattaya, Phuket, Acapulco, Rio de Janeiro, Caribbean and many other places in the world were great places to be but have since then turned into <deleted> holes.

One hundred mils of product in a one hundred mils capacity container would leave no space for a propellent gas and so an intended aerosol becomes inert just like liquid in a screwtop bottle. As an asthmatic I will face having inhalers confiscated. But then perhaps restocking the perks for security staff is the intention.🤔

Where have you been for the last 20 years or so, maximum 100ml for each individual container has been the standard since these rules were brought in worldwide? A standard Ventolin inhaler is 100ml so you could carry 10 if you so desired?
