Only two cities leading the nonsense... aka Phuket and Pattaya

  • Anybody else spotted the standout connection between these offenders from different foreign countries, Brits, French. Aussie, Belgian?

  • Probably only a slap on the wrist and a small fine. If they really want people to stop doing this give a hefty fine and a boot out of the country. For Thais they can get a small stint in jail alongsid

UPDATE
Australian Tourist Jailed in Phuket for Dangerous Motorcycle Stunt

An Australian tourist has been sentenced to 15 days in prison by a Phuket court after performing dangerous motorcycle stunts on public roads. The court imposed the jail term without the possibility of suspension or the option to pay a fine, citing the serious risk posed to other road users.

The tourist, was caught riding a motorcycle and doing a “wheelie” , on a public road in the Chalong area. The stunt, which reportedly caused disruption and posed a significant threat to motorists and pedestrians, was observed by police officers and possibly captured on video.

Chalong Police quickly intervened, detaining the individual and formally referring the case to the provincial court. Prosecutors argued that the tourist’s actions demonstrated blatant disregard for public safety and traffic laws.

The court agreed, ruling that the act was not only reckless but also set a dangerous example, particularly in a popular tourist destination like Phuket where traffic-related injuries are a growing concern. As a result, the court imposed a custodial sentence without leniency, no suspended sentence and no fine in lieu of jail time.

15 days in prison for a wheelie.  :cheesy:

Now what about the 1 million Thais crashing red lights,  and driving / riding up the carriageway the wrong way, everyday in Thailand.

Just to mention a few things,  the Thais do everyday on the roads. :stoner:

Send him home with a 5 years ban...

Do you really think a 5 year ban is punishment? He will spend 5 years saving money to return and act stupid again.

Seriously?

There are 12 - 14 year old kids doing wheelies on our soi quite often.

wow, so reading through the news today and in fact every day we see multiple deaths on the roads - yes people actually killed by drunks driving or careless driving or speeding and this guy who injured no one gets jail time for doing what - a wheelie - really ???

lets get a little perspective here, I'm pretty sure you have done worse and like i said above many in Thailand do worse every day, a prison term is quite frankly ridiculous

No need to worry about me, I get the wife to drive,

Thailand doesn't have a police force to enforce the road rules and actually they appear as though they don't care anyways.

Thailand doesn't have anyone to enforce the road rules and actually they appear as though they don't care anyways as you rarely see anyone trying to enforce the rules
