restaurant, where the man, clearly intoxicated, began dancing shirtless while coughing up phlegm all over the place

Sounds like a few of the restaurant on Soi Buakhou.

Thai people have dignity

Depends how you emphasize that.

Only Thai people have dignity? Or

Thai people have nothing but dignity?

Hmmh.

The first option could be derogative towards others and the second option is it too.

I thought throwing habdfulls of 20 baht notes around was the strict purview of Koraen gentlemen frequenting gogo bars. :coffee1:

The netizens should be more pissed off at the police force for not doing their jobs, until a complaint. They also should be upset that they get a slap on the hand and a small fine (which the Thais get), when they should make it a point for all foreigners who do unlawful acts to be arrested and deported or at least a big fine for first offense and then deportation if they muck up again on lighter issues. Time to stop blaming the tourists and start blaming you protectors and law makers.

Good point. I think what you're saying is that if you're going to show outrage, feel outrage over something that's worthy of your netizen warrior tirades.

Thin skinned snowflake culture gets quite pathetic and sickening after a while.

Thai people knows very well, that such behaviour should always be done in the bathroom sink, with no need to clean up after themselves!

Morning flight out of Thailand would solve a lot of issues with these idiots

Come on, be fair: Upon arrival, officers checked the man’s passport and issued him with a stern warning about his behaviour

The truth is that it matters not if Chinese, Thai or anyone else

It matters not if they are tourists or residents

It matters not what country one is in

There are high spirits and there are.hooligans and those that disturb the peace with reckless abandon often through drinking too much.

These incidents happen all over the world

Short of serious consequences of such disturbances, offenders should be appropriately dealt with and everybody moves on!

I agree that if a person is a nuisance  then staff talk to them. If police called automatic  should be make them pay bill  and either take them to station if  not cooperative  if cooperative  then take them home and tell them to stay.  If in a hotel have staff call police if he leaves

Did not bother to seek out the video but I think it's likely that 'antics' should replace 'chaos' and 'amusement' should replace 'outrage' in the headline.  Pity I was not at the restaurant--sounds like it was a fun evening.

Throwing Money?

Throw his wallet and Credit Cards in a basket, Hand it over to a Chinese Airline To Sort Out The Charges.

They also need to put an entry ban in the passports like in the "Old Days" in the EU with people caught working Illegally.

While quietly collecting the thrown money to use as evidence ..........

If he wishes to avoid criticism, he should stick with larger bank-notes.

Here in Bangkok I see Thais are exhausted. No more land of smiles. Add to this our never ending static in their lives due to foreigners. The conundrum of course is that they are ever gracious as well.

I'm feeling being made even more distant at times. I dress well, assume Thai manners in public, not unattractive for my age.

I fear we're losing ground. Not a day goes by and something like this happens. Easily 356 farang die in this country annually due to dumb ass shl+

display of disrespect - Chinese people throw money on the heads of Thai people

Mmm I'm sure most will agree and hand the money back

Probably 20 Bhat notes never seen a Chinese throwing money around and I drove tour busses full of them for years, but rude to the max

Maybe TAT should concentrate on attracting quality rather than sheer quantity

Sheer quantity over quality only works if you are selling $2 items at a swap meet. Most of these tourism officials should be demoted to swap meet salesmen!
