President Zelensky....Master of the Deal!

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

So a deal has been struck between the US and Ukraine, and the deal involves minerals (rare earths) and oil in the main, and poor old trump has been outplayed.

Initially trump wanted around $350 billion from Ukraine for the "support" that they had already given, but Zelensky wanted a deal which didn't involve payments of large sums, but did involve payment in kind via their vast resources of minerals; this especially after trump's disastrous tariffs on China ensured that they were going to cease rare earth exports to the US, therefore jeopardising many of the vital industries in the US.

It's highly likely that Trump's cabal of wealthy industrialists urged him to strike this deal once they knew that the Chinese were not going to supply the rare earths any more, or at least jeopardise any future arrangements they had hoped for.

So the US has opted for the very same terms which Zelensky took to the White House those few weeks ago before he was bullied by Trump and Vance, so it's a win for Zelensky and Ukraine.

Not only that, it changes the whole scenario because once the US has a vested interest in Ukraine's mineral wealth and invests money to realise it, then any attacks by Russia could be seen as an act of aggression against the US therefore moving the conflict closer to trump versus Putin, with Zelensky watching from the sidelines – – what a master stroke.

Very happy for Ukraine and its people and no matter what trump goobers may say, Zelensky has been playing chess whilst trump has been playing checkers, or even tiddlywinks!!!

A big win for Ukraine and President Zelensky!

So your man sharp as a tack Biden(with a history of corruption in Ukraine through family links to Burisma), who opened the chequebook with no plan to end the war, just wasting money hand over fist for years = good and a win.

Trump getting some $$ in return for the US's assistance in ending the war and delivering peace  = bad and a loss.

Think I understand.

But you obviously don't understand do you, because nothing has been proven regarding your accusation of Biden having a history of corruption in Ukraine, and secondly the war has not ended and trump has not negotiated anything with regards to the war ending, so your statement about US "ending the war and delivering peace" is a pure figment of a scrambled Maga imagination.

The outcome so far suits Zelensky and Ukraine, whilst Putin can only look on whilst the US invests money in Ukraine, thereby helping the economy there.

There you go......just to help you understand!!

PS. And Biden has never been "my man" and I'm not a "leftie" as the Maga goobers like to say!!

So, the same deal that was being signed before Zelenskeys White house confrontation a month ago..... but you're trying to spin it as something different.

Not sure how this deal is a win for the Ukrainian people.... those left anyway

I know English is not your native language, Dmitry, but that is not what he wrote at all.  You just made a bunch of stuff up and attributed it to him.

Speaking of people who left, will you and your ilk be heading back to the motherland after the war ends?

Here's something for you Putin fanboys on AN.

"Donald Trump has finally blamed Russia for the war in Ukraine in an agreed version of the minerals deal leaked to The Telegraph.
The document states: “The United States of America has provided significant financial and material support to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion.”"

Its most likely not worth the paper it’s written on sadly….its with trump that means less than nothing.trump is a pathological liar and cannot be trusted most likely outcome is in my opinion trump will delay any weapons delivery to favor his pal putin…..you know yagoda the guy that for real empties his prisons and asylums arms the inmates and sends them FOR REAL to murder rape and loot his neighbor.

Wasn't the same deal at all. But of course MAGAs won't provide any proof of their claims, whilst all published media states that it was Trump who changed his stance.

Let's not forget that this was a Ukrainian idea first presented to the Biden administration. But MAGAs are so blinkered that they assume Trump was behind it all.

Quote

What’s in the deal?

The mineral deal will create a U.S.-controlled investment fund that would receive revenue from Ukraine’s natural resources, according to a copy of the agreement made public on Thursday.

It appears that Ukraine managed to get some of what it wanted, but not everything.

The Trump administration had said in March that it wanted Ukraine to repay assistance given during the war with its mineral wealth — which would have financially hurt Ukraine for generations. The idea of treating that aid as debt was removed in the final deal. And the deal appears to specifically keep the door open for Ukraine to eventually join the European Union.

There was no mention of a U.S. security guarantee in the text of the nine-page deal that Ukraine’s government published on Thursday.

Kyiv and Washington will jointly manage the fund, which will be financed with revenues from new projects in critical minerals, oil and gas — not from projects that are already operating.

Although the agreement does not treat past aid to Ukraine as debt that the country needs to repay, it does say that future military aid, including weapons and training, will be treated as a U.S. contribution to the fund — meaning that Ukraine will need to match future aid with resource wealth.

The agreement does not change the management of Ukraine’s state-owned energy companies. All natural resources will still be considered Ukraine’s property.

In addition, the agreement says that the United States and Ukraine want to ensure that countries “that have acted adversely to Ukraine in the conflict do not benefit from the reconstruction of Ukraine” once peace is reached — in other words, Russia.

Ukraine’s parliament still has to ratify the agreement, which will probably happen in the next two weeks, lawmakers said on Thursday.

MAGAs pretending that it is a win for Trump....as usual. It's not even his deal.

Nope its different. Seems Zelensky got a lot of what he wanted in the deal. trump will declare it was all him but thats highly questionable. Here's the breakdown from the internet:

The mineral deal signed yesterday between the U.S. and Ukraine establishes the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund, which allows the U.S. to invest in Ukraine’s mineral resources and natural assets2. Unlike the earlier agreements, this deal ensures joint management and co-ownership of the fund, with neither side holding a dominant vote. Additionally, 50% of all revenue from new Ukrainian oil, gas, and mineral licenses will go toward the fund.

Another key difference is that this agreement is framed as a long-term strategic alignment rather than a security guarantee. The previous proposals included language requiring Ukraine to reimburse the U.S. for wartime military assistance, but that provision was removed in this final version3.

I am not sure if he likes the truth or not, but IMHO he doesn't understand or even want to understand it, unless it comes from Trump, in which case it MUST be the truth, because Trump has said so.

In other words, Trump is aligning with Ukraine in much the same way that Biden was aligning with Ukraine. Business. It was all about protecting resources and supply chains. But of course the MAGA's will try to frame it as Biden being corrupt and Trump being a hero. They are so 'dumb'.

Pretty sure if don Jr was on the board of burisma @ 50k a month you'd be asking all sorts of questions, as would the media... instead there is silence

TBH, I don't really care who was the first to propose it, suggest it, hint at it, manipulate it, or fold it into a paper airplane. If it gets the war over with, I am for it.  This should really rise beyond political fukkery.

I beg to differ Joe Biden is an idealistic American.the  Ukrainian nation asked for the tools to defend itself from a hoard of looting murdering raping criminals Joe Biden stepped up to the plate and helped in our and Europes name along with other European nations.donald trump is transactional and he is a malignant narcissist remember Zelenskyy wouldn’t lie for him that makes it difficult for trump to do the correct thing on account of his illness.in my opinion trump feels a bit cornered as many Americans are calling him out for his fawning behavior towards Putin.I do believe trump will drag his feet to help his pal putin.even if just to get back at Zelenskyy for not lying for him.

Now that is the million dollar question, isn't it. My prediction; it won't, but we'll know more when (if?) the full deal is revealed.

Trump should have stepped up to the plate from the beginning instead he did EVERYTHING HE could to throw the brave Ukrainian nation under the bus all stop!🛑 if you can’t see or understand that simple fact you sir are suspect.

Nothing will happen unless there is a peace deal and that is very unlikely so just hypothetical, optics, who cares...
