Many false claims are made by an individual with no knowledge of Canadian history, political systems or economics.

Carney had multiple passports because he was living and working overseas and the passports worked for him. It is not unusual. Approx. 4 million Canadians have dual nationalities.  Approx. 1 million of them are  US nationals.

 

He is wrong on the lumber claim. The USA does not have the capacity to produce the lumber needed.There are not enough sawmills to cut the lumber and the US timber reserves are in national parks and locations away from markets.  Unlike Canada, the USA does not have  aggressive replanting of forests once cut down. He is wrong on  the oil industry/ the USA is purchasing oil   at below market cost , refining and selling it back to Canada. If the chronic whiners in Canada's oil patch were so concerned about  oil production they would want an oil refinery  and not more pipelines to export oil to the USA.  Maybe it is because of the US  control of the oil patch.

He is also showing his ignorance of  the oil that is used. Not all oil  grades and types are the same.  The  US oil refineries are specific to Canadian oil grades, not to  southern US oil. He is wrong on the auto manufacturing and assumes that Canada would be  content with importing US automobiles. Canada can and should pivot to only Canadian made and non USA imports. They don't need multiple versions of US models.  No more electricity, water, inland transits or overflights for the USA  too. Canada should put heavy taxes on flights to the USA, and cut a deal with Caribbean nations for holiday goers. Cuba would gladly welcome snowbirds, especially if they became  medical tourists.
