Ordered a set of men's shorts from them.

Ordered size XL which is advertised as 31-33 inch.

Items arrived and it is size 26 so not just a small scam (pun intended)

Since I'm travelling overseas tomorrow, I quickly opened the return request.

Great was my surprise that after you have filed the return request, the seller get FOUR days to decide if he will accept the items, which are clearly not as described.

Contacted Lazada and explained my situation, but it is as if you are talking to a wall, because they just tell you to wait 4 days, and if seller doesn't respond, we will approve the return.

Yeah right, I will ask the flight to wait for me 4 days. Never seen a platform where the scammer get  days to decide if you are allowed to send back the items with which he scammed a customer.

To put salt in the wound, Lazada just emailed me that they have added tracking to the return request, so I know when the 4 days have passed and I can then proceed to ship the items back.

Are they plain stupid or just a professional scam organisation?

Buying clothes and especially shoes online is not recommended

When  they advertise the size, it is supposed to like that, not.

But my biggest issue with this bunch is that they give the seller 4 days to decide if he even want to accept you send it back.

On Shopee you open a return request, it get approved in the next 15 seconds.

You then print the return label and drop off at the logistics.

After the seller has received the items he has 4 days or so to check the items, which I think is normal.

I don't think it's a "scam".

It's their "policy".

Maybe people return items too frivolously for no apparent reason, hence the delay.

Or maybe people buy stuff to use it once, knowing that they plan to return it, and abuse the return policy.

I've heard of this happening with Amazon.

The pictures don't lie, do they? They clearly show that the size is significantly different from what is advertised.

They have seen the pictures, and they are informed it is an emergency, as I will leave Thailand, so not in a position to ship back after tomorrow.

They just keep sending emails with lame excuses, and we have added tracking to the return, so you will be notified that you can send back when you aren't in Thailand anymore

Sounds naive. Buy clothing online.

So how much baht are we talking here.

On gift to smaller Thai friend and move on.

Naive to buy clothing with advertised sizes?

I guess you also consider it is naive to buy electronics, toys, food or whatever else is listed online?

Thanks for blaming the victim

Buy on shopee in future then, problem solved, seem to remember you threw a wobbler about lazada a few months ago, and got the same issue now.

I'd never buy clothes online, surely there are shops for this close by.

You can also check reviews or rating s of all the sellers to avoid this.

I moved to Shopee long time ago, just gave Lazada another try, hoping they had sorted their sh!t in the meantime.

Lesson learned, it got worse.

I know you can't trust XL - L etc, but here the size was advertised in inches

Your right that they appear a tad smaller however if I was playing devils advocate......I don't think that is how you measure a waistband. How much material goes around to the back and perhaps it is stretchy...........maybe "stretching " things a bit here ......:whistling:

As others have clearly said why would you buy an unknown brand online - and just before you are due to go away......

Yes that is how you measure size.

It says 31-33 inches, which mean 31 inches which stretches to 33 inches.

You measure 1 side and multiply by 2, there is obviously no material going around the back as it is flat.

I have underwear that I previously ordered from another seller, with the same size, and they are correct, but those items are out of stock currently. Otherwise, I would have ordered from that seller again.

The listing I ordered this time had 1476 sales, and a 5 star rating, so either there are many stupid people, or the ratings are fake.

Underpants have elastic in the waist.  They stretch.

31-33" is the expanded size.

No, it means that size is suitable for a waistline ranging from 31 to 33 inches.

Did you try 'em on?

Yes obviously I tried them on, and they should be 31"  unstretched and 33" stretched, as are the ones I ordered from another seller 6 months ago, and were advertised 30 - 32. They are 30" unstretched.

Current order is 26", which means they should have to stretch 7" to get to 33"

Honest mistake where?

In the 273 ratings, or you think they sent 10 pieces with the XL label attached, but they were only 26" by mistake?

They are not "Size 26",  they are XL.

It doesn't say that they are 31-33ins in circumference.

It says that they will fit a waist that is 31-33ins.......obviously because they stretch to accomodate that range.

They are elasticated......they stretch.

They stretch and grip.

They would have to be less than 31ins in order to do an efficient job of gripping on a 31inch waist.

How much less than 31ins do you think they should be in order to grip effectively on a 31inch waist?

Are we there yet?

🙂

Did Lazada change their return policy after you made your purchase... or did you simply not read them before hand ?

I stopped buying clothes like this in Thailand YEARS ago. This is the land of little people (though they are growing at an alarming rate with the introduction of a western diet). I can't even get 4XL shorts past my knees.

What really grinds my gears is how they keep playing around with import taxes. About 4 years ago, a package of Hanes men's shorts cost around $25 USD, but with import tax shot up to just under $100 USD. Then the import taxes melted away and the added tax was less than $10 USD, well worth it for quality clothes. Damned if it hasn't gone back up nearing the $100 USD mark again.

I just make a trip to see family and friends every year and stock up.

Post a screenshot of the policy where is written that the seller get 4 days to decide if he allows you to send back the items, or shut up

I am 68kg, 32 waist. Below are my size XL shorts. The waistband is elastic. Where is there a standard for how much a waistband is meant to stretch for size measurement?

The mistake was in buying something online with insufficient time to make a return if the need arose.

Having to wait for the seller to approve the return has been around for a long time and it would be wrong to assume it had gone away.

In low cost disputes unlikely the seller will respond,  you get the refund and to keep the goods, what is wrong with that.

Lazada doing nothing wrong. It’s not their fault that the seller has made a mistake. And it’s not their fault that you must leave tomorrow. The seller has the right to investigate and confirm the error before refunding or sending the correct item. It takes a couple of days to send stuff so expecting immediate corrective action is unreasonable. No other place refunds before receiving faulty goods. Before abusing others take a good look at yourself and put yourself in their shoes. You can always gift them to people overseas.

It's your own fault! Four days for a return request is rather quick. Your problem is that you placed an online order far too close to your flight and now you want to slander the seller as a scammer (blaming others for your own mistakes says a lot about your level of sophistication). Especially when you order clothes online, mistakes can happen due to sizing!

And all the fuss about 69 baht underpants:post-4641-1156694572:

Might be a 200 bath order if he ordered multiple  😆

A couple of days ago I bought some items from the Decathlon store in Saphanmai. When I looked at what I had bought later, I realised that I had picked up one wrong item …I searched in vain for the receipt. Phoned the shop and they said don’t worry we can check what you bought from your phone number.

Next day I went back and exchanged the item and as the item that I wanted was cheaper than the one that I had picked up in error, I received a partial refund.

Also the staff that I dealt with, their English was very good.

That is good service.

These rules are not new and it's easy to check BEFORE you order something.

Lesson learned.

Gee, I thought the tarrifs were paid by the seller, not the buyer. That's what I've heard anyway.
