Another Lazada scam story

Only that in this case the supposed size in inches was mentioned.

I know XL or XXL or whatever are up to interpretation, but there is no interpretation possible in how many inches 31 inches should be

It doesn't matter - they sizes vs actual measurement are all over the place anyway - so whatever it says you'll get something different.

Thats just the way it is buying online.

IF they say 32" waist or 45" chest - you still have no idea what that means.

i.e. I've chosen clothes to fit my 45" chest and they are 'skin tight' on my 45" chest, meanwhile I've chose close to 'fit a 45" in chest' and there is space....

Each manufacturer is different and thats just the way it is.

Its the same with shoes... I'm anywhere from 9.5 to 10.5 depending on Manufacturer - but at least thats more accurate...  With clothes from a Chinese clothes outlets mass selling all over the world - product QC is non-existent....

... Remember why you purchased those cheap under-crackers in the first place and didn't go to Emporium and buy some Calvin Klien's or Jockey in the first place - You get what you pay for and take the chances, thats all.

Buying clothes and especially shoes online is not recommended   regards worgeordie

  • Sounds naive. Buy clothing online. So how much baht are we talking here.  On gift to smaller Thai friend and move on.

  • Naive to buy clothing with advertised sizes? I guess you also consider it is naive to buy electronics, toys, food or whatever else is listed online? Thanks for blaming the victim

You're not a victim, you're a customer who was sent the wrong size, not scammed, and the return process is underway as per Lazada's system.   That you chose to make a trip outside Thailand is not Lazada's issue, it is yours, why should they change their process?

I've been caught out in a very similar way by Amazon in the UK.

Purchased an item, delivery was delayed. Unable to cancel the order as its in process.

But, we'd have departed by the time of delivery... Only option, have family go through the returns process as they receive the item - a PITA for them, but this is just a facet of online shopping.

If I want a pair of shorts and a T-shirt (i.e. online from Next)

I'll make an order thats waiting for my arrival:

- 8 pairs of shorts (of slightly different colour size options)

- 8 T-shirts (of slightly different colour size options)

- I'll return 14 items, and thats just the way it works.

I did similar here, when flying back in and SandBoxing in Phuket - I had items delivered to the Hotel I was going to be staying at - then returned anything I didn't want.

The same goes for Lazada / Shopee..........    The Op ONLY needs to have a friend on standby prepared to assist with returning the items, thats it.

am surprised how much sympathy AN members feel for a rotten online scammer.

What was the "scam"?   Sending the wrong size isn't a scam.

I was NOT sent the wrong size, because the label has the XL mark on it.

The seller makes false advertising claiming that XL correspondents with 31 inches

I ordered Davidoff .

They sent me another brand . The seller was adamant, that it was perfume.( within  weeks,I returned it and got a refund from Lazada ).

Same thing happened to me with supplements.

i will not buy supplements anymore from lazada.

looks like the same scam exists with perfume.

but they did also give me a refund.

So the seller did nothing wrong, you were sent the correctly labelled size!  You cannot blame the seller for a manufacturers labelling error.

do they sell your underpants at 7-11 ... I know they sell T-shirts and socks.   Maybe go there ...   :burp:

Yes you can... The seller ultimately doesn't give a shyte... not even the slightest....

Thats just the way it is...    I've had XXXL clothes that are too tight, and L clothes that are massive...

Both some with sizing instructions that are way way off, not even remotely close.

Its clear the seller doesn't care for QC of any of this....   That is their fault - we should be able to at least purchase something in 'in the ball park'...  a few % variation is within a reasonable error margin.

There is no QC - the stuff is cheap, we just have to accept that and see what we get.....

And yes... You can 'blame the seller' for the manufacturers labelling error - as it is the seller as its them who failed to check / QC...  or more clearly, just don't care.

You are correct...  I just accept that they don't care... and 31" is not going to mean 31"...

Its cheap online stuff... thats all - buy a few different sizes and return the ones you don't want - this is the only way I've found this stuff works.

Just had a quick look on Lazada for a 65" LG smart TV.

About 80% of the offers were from China sellers for 7 - 8000 bht. OLED tv's of that size were a little bit more for 15000 baht.

Does Lazada really not see these listings are pure scams at those prices, or are they supporting their scam sellers?

I know the answer.

Take note that a seller from Chachoengsao is actually a China seller as well, and goods are sent from China, but again, Lazada hasn't discovered this scam which is ongoing for years

No idea

Monday was at Makro, they had a Samsung 65"  SALE price 7,990 baht !!!  [not interest in Samsung or LG]

The other thing to look at is LG's webOS version,   as with Android there are many brand new TV/Smartphone/Tablets running a older system = a lot cheaper.

Home Pro often have big discount sales on + branches all over Thailand + do online

I presume you were confused and that was a 55", as I just looked on the Makro Pro and the cheapest 65" is 18K

You're right, it's definitely a scam.  My spouse and I found that out when we ordered a tv and got a small package of 2 cheap stickers, as I recounted in an earlier post.   Lazada should definitely be doing more to block these 'sellers'.
