Then we (Americans) should be allowed to order it from a different country where they sell the same medicine at a much lower price.

Does that same logic apply to all goods? Cars? Clothes? Food? Household goods?

I guess this will be seen as a bad thing by the usual suspects on here.

Yeah, let's see how creative they are in putting a negative spin on this.

Or ... they will hide completely because it causes too much cognitive dissonance with their narrative that Trump is "an unhinged madman dictator and felon and rapist who only cares about lining his own pockets and plays golf 24/7."

Obsessed with other's opinions much?

What other products have the same pricing disparity?  And which of them can be the difference between life and death?

I can order (for example) a camera from Japan if they're cheaper there, and the only difference is that I may not get the warranty.  If I try that with a prescription, I'm subject to arrest.

Executive orders do not need approval from Congress as they are not legislation. How or if Trump achieves this we'll have to wait and see.

Yea, that's true IF the executive orders are more or less the business of the Executive branch of government.

Do you think that an executive order has the power to put in place regulation of corporate business? Show me where it does.

So he sabotaged the policy Biden put in place to lower drug prices, and now he's claiming he will fix it? Does anyone see how this is a problem?

Do you honestly think that anything got cheaper under biden?

I guess when you can withhold billions of taxpayer's money there is a big stick to wave.

He just signed it.

The ink's not even dry and the lefty idiots are already claiming it hasn't resulted in significant savings.

Signed it? So what?
How many Impeachment orders have been signed already? He's still here.
How many Felony convictions have been signed already? He's still here.
How many egregious lies promising this or that already?   He's still making them.
Nothing has changed.

We don't know yet...  The Biden price reductions were supposed to kick in starting in 2026.  On 10 (count 'em 10) of the thousands of prescriptions in the pharmacy.

Keep at it.  Unhinged is what got Trump elected.  It'll also get Vance elected in 2028.

You may missed the enormous savings for medications to treat diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and other ailments under new prices negotiated with drug companies by Biden. Trump tried to undone Biden’s Act by executive order and under funding. Now he did a 360 and lean on Biden’s achievement. This is flattering to Biden.

Have you seen the summary of the actual savings?  Because they were supposed to kick in starting in 2026.

All I've seen is rosy projections.

A scientist friend received death threats because she published a paper that could have led to a couple of thousand diabetics reducing their dependence on insulin, etc.

That would have reduced their profits by 0.001%, maybe?

Donald, watch your back!  (or ear?)

President Donald Trump announced that he would be signing a new executive order aimed at dramatically reducing the cost of prescription drugs in the United States. According to Trump, the directive is designed to lower pharmaceutical prices by as much as 30% to 80%, marking a significant push to make medication more affordable for Americans.

Amazing republicans are now cheering on price Regulations, sure sounds like that woke stuff liberals talk about.

Interesting you say this. Just goes to show that Trump is not your typical Republican. The left went to the looney progressive woke left and Trump became more of a populist centrist getting the votes from all those opposed to the direction the Democratic Party took.

This type of policy, long discussed in Washington, has historically met resistance from pharmaceutical companies and lobbying groups that argue it could stifle innovation

Translated...

We'll stop making drugs that average American's can't afford anyway.  That will show those cheeky complaining plebs.

The Act will be implemented in phases over 10 years. It is projected to save recipients US1.8 billion. Some provisions have been implemented. Trump said he want to cut drug costs. Easier said than done if he do not implement other aspect of the Act like increasing corporate tax.

Have you seen an actual summary of how much Biden's negotiations have saved US patients?  Not rosy election year projections.  Actual numbers.  Real patients.  Not hypotheticals.  Because it ain't $1.8 billion.  They haven't saved me a dime.

Edit:  BTW, US prescription spending is >$700 billion a year.  How much of a savings is $1.8 billion spread over 10 years? Put it in percentage numbers, if you don't mind...

Populist centrist? Populist extremely right wing. State controlled, like fascism.

We could have seen the actual savings if not for Trump undermining  and under funding the Act. Could be more than the forecast of US1.8 billion. Took a while for Trump to see the benefit of Biden’s Act. He is slow in understanding as we all know.

So you diss the projections about biden's plan because it's just projections that haven't saved you a dime, but fully trust this unsigned EO, the exact content is not known yet.

When did Trump undermine and underfund the act?  In his first 100 days?  I'm genuinely curious.
