Yet another donation of flooding aid, this one apparently from their Majesties the King and Queen (hence their photo).

My son from the UK being used as a beast of burden.

And a knot remover.

A decent pile.

The obligatory rice and noodles along with canned fish and curry, water, oil, a strange milk drink, biccies, tissues, a massive bath towel, a sarong, and a handy first aid kit.

All in all, a well thought out package!

Yours truly modelling the clothing.

  • Our first "flood relief"  was just delivered. Small boy with a cart brought us two packs of bottled water.   He went away with a 4 pack of yoghurt and a huge smile!!

Top of the weekend's highest tide.

Not done a Floodcam for a while, not much change really, villagers are still using boats.

My oracle says that the flow from the north will reduce, soon.

EDIT Apparently the discharge rate of the Chao Phraya dam is now down to 2,688m3/s with the expected rate to be back to the normal 700m3/s by January.

Level is about 45cm below worry.

The flooding brought out the zombies, so my son who is visiting from the UK and my Thai grand-daughter had to fight them off!

I'm wondering if the 14.5% mead that Andy brought from the UK had anything to do with the arrival of the zombies :whistling:

Top of the tide today, we have about a week of reducing tides before some biggies early in December.

It's probably not going to help those in the deep south 😞

Feeling a bit guilty as we've received another aid package (from local MPs this time) whilst the poor sods down in Hat Yai are flooded to roof level and above with a reportedly poor response from the authorities! 😞

Meanwhile, storms Koto and FOUR could cause our friends in the south more grief 😞

Looks like FOUR has already dissipated. I've never seen a TS form so far south in that area, so a repeat would be concerning for the future.

TS KOTO is dithering but not strengthening, after a downgrade from CAT1. If it moves over Vietnam it's also likely to dissipate quickly.

Looks like we have another friend down there in TS Senyar. It's predicted to go north ish whilst the remains of Koto come south ish.

Not likely to affect Thailand but what happens if they interact?

Looks your Senyar is the same that I saw previously and was called FOUR on my other site. Now not named as is is no longer a tropical storm (winds < 34 knots) and should be OK.

The Ko Kret monitor is still down so I'm having to guess just when the peak level is.😞

With the continuing decrease in river level I decided to re-commission the pool pump which I removed when flooding was occurring.
Of course the pool is now a lovely green colour matching the mushy peas I made yesterday. Gave it a double dose of algicide and shock level of chlorine.
Need it back in service for the Xmas party on the 21st December.

Also, the restaurant is cleaning, liberal use of the pressure washer. The parking is still very damp but they hope to be able to open next weekend.

Of course, all this activity will immediately jinx any further level decrease and there are big tides in a week or so...

Dipstick shows about 90cm below the worry level so we're not completely out of the woods, but one can hope.

Estimated top of the tide, Ko Kret monitor is still down.

This is the last of the smaller peaks before the larger tides next week.

Whilst the biggies are a full 1m higher at the gulf I doubt they will cause further issues for us this far upstream.

Famous last words?

We shall see.

Meanwhile I've been cleaning the "fertile" mud off the pool surround with the pressure washer.

There was back-scatter!!

@lordgrinz thanks, yeah I saw that too.

Approximate top of today's 3.4m tide, peak tide is 4.2m on Sunday. Do note that these predicted levels are at the gulf.

Floodcam, some villagers are now able to walk to their homes!

Freeboard is about 108cm below the worry level.

Historical image below from the last 3.4m high tide.

It's pretty evident that we are currently a lot lower than that 🙂

Stay safe, I live very close to the Impact Exhibition center, I don't believe we have ever been effected over here by flooding, I believe we are about meters above seal level here though.

There's some traffic at the river level monitor.
