Good morning,

I am now 7 years here and just have 1 account with UOB.

Every month I send from my WISE account Thai Baht directly to my UOB account.

A few days ago I was doing my usual transfer but the following message came up:

We can not send to this recipient/ The recipient bank currently does not support border remittances.

I thought it was something temporary. Later, tried again but same message. I called WISE and they said that they will look into this.

Next day I go an email, saying to send them a screenshot, what I did but they can't tell me, why this is happening.
I called UOB and from their site, no restrictions on my account.

I tried WISE again but same. I tried to set up a new recipient with a Thai account.
I scrolled down the "chose bank" and UOB didn't come up.

My friend tried as well to transfer to her UOB account, same issue.
She also pays her rent directly to landlord through WISE. Landlord is banking with TTB.

Here the same issues. Not possible to send money to TTB.

Does anyone have the same issues? Neither WISE nor UOB are able to resolve this.

Thanks

I think UOB is on the long list of banks that Wise don't transfer to

I transfered to UOB for the last 7 years; No issues.

It seems that TTB bank also is not possible to receive money via WISE.

You are correct, the same message comes, when attempting to transfer to TTB.

This has happened since 6th May!

Over the last two days I have used Wise to send small payments to two Payees with Khrung Thai bank accounts. In each transaction the receiving bank Khrung Thai has refused to accept the payment and returned it to Wise who asked me to check the details of both Payees are accurate. This I did and a second attempt made to transfer, again rejected.

I have confirmed with both Payees that they have not changed their accounts, addresses from that previously established. I have ensured that the Reason for Transfer during entry on the Wise 'form' is entered and all other details are correct but to no avail. Wise is now refunding my payments.

I am wondering now if Khrung Thai Bank are amongst those no longer accepting payments via Wise as indicated by the OP.

Hello everyone!

I have the same error. The last time I sent from Wise to Krungsri was two weeks ago, 49,000 baht. Everything was fine.

Today I tried sending three different amounts. In response, Wise offered to correct the account details.

I believe this has to do with some new money laundering measures that came into effect on May 1. Only some banks were properly prepared for the changes as regards transfers from Wise, UOB not among them. KBank and Bangkok Bank OK. The notice I read about this said they were working on getting all banks authorized to accept Wise transfers but it might take a while.

Simplify one’s life in Thailand by using Kasikorn or Bangkok Bank (BB).

Both are well received for international  transfers with BB being the only one (I believe) for direct deposit from US government agencies.

Citizens of other countries may advise if BB accepts their government direct deposits.

Highly ironical, I think, given that at one time they were one of Wise's partner banks here in LOS!

I suspect that this would largely depend on whether BKKB had a presence in their home countries. As far as I'm aware, BKKB only have foreign branches in London and New York.

More likely a case of bungling incompetence and ineptitude at the KTBK end, it seems to me.

Q: And the other way around? How to use WISE to transfer from a Thai Baht account at for instance Kasikorn to an European bank (euro account) does this work  ?  Since you can't 'upload' Thai Baht into WISE, right ?
