"Idyllic" is depending where you live/stay on Samui – I still find my home being located on "the idyllic island of Koh Samui"...👍 – and you don't need to enter the local ganja shop, just pass it and enter the convenience store instead...

   Israeli tourists haven't been banned from those Countries , it that those Countries do not recognise the existence of Israel

Totally agree. Had my first visit to Lamai in 1998. Have visited every year since (except a brief blip for Covid) and have stayed for 2+ years on three separate occasions. Have made many great friends there over the years, both Thai and foreign. Wonderful place IMO.

Although this may seem off-topic, the Maldives, a Muslim-majority country, has banned Israelis due to political reasons. No other country has enacted such a ban, and certainly not based on behavioral concerns.

That said, judging by how often Brits, Indians, Chinese and Russians are brought up on this forum, it seems they'd be the ones first in line for a ban, definitely not the Israelis.
